Meeting with the Doctors

Hi Everybody. As you might know, Joey has had a really hard time getting over this last SCT and the doctors have been discussing the next one. They came into our room today to discuss Joey’s progress and to let us know that they would like to postpone his last SCT for about a week. This will give Joey enough time to get his strength back and to start up PT/OT again. Also, the last SCT will not be done by lumbar puncture to the spine as the previous three, this one will be done through IV. They tell me that it will contain many many many more stem cells and may possibly be less painful. They also feel it could result in more substantial improvements. Since the last three SCT’s Joey has regained some sensation in his legs and feet. They seem more sensitive to touch which may be the reason for all the pain (this is a good thing). I have to say that I am relieved that they are giving him several more days to recooperate. He was very happy about this as well.

I am so happy you will be getting a little break, Joey. Poppy & I are so excited about everything. We have a very good feeling about all of this. I had a dream last night that you were pulling yourself up & taking steps. Makes me cry with joy just to think about this. It is happening, baby. We love you so much. Hey Dana and Joey – I guess by now the cat is out of the bag!! We have ordered 2500 bbq tickets to sell so that JD’s truck will become Joey’s truck when Joey is ready to start going places!!! The boys are also talking about a “Hooters Girls” car wash – I think they should wait for Joey to get back so he can watch that action – lol!!!! I hope you all are back in time for the drive-thru dinner – Thursday – April 9th – 4:30 to 6:30. Patsy Brending, I think you all are related??, offered to pay for the cost of the printing on the tickets – and she has asked for 75 tickets – so we are on our way!!! Keep us posted – we will continue to pray for you and hope that the pain means that this is working and you will be ready to ROCK ON! Love you both – love, Momma Hurta

Hey Joey! Enjoy your break and see some sights. I’ve found some beautiful hidden mountain lakes with some huge trout that I’ll have to take you to later.
