Day 39 – Sunday 7th June 2009 – Last night in Xiaoshan Hospital
June 7th, 2009
We all had a good nights sleep and mini lie-in this morning, although we were woken up by a phone call from an unknown person at 6:05am!!
The weather was good, and so we decided to go to Hangzhou Safari. We all got changed and packed everything ready for the day, Ant went to sign Josh out for the day, and was told that they needed to take blood from him before we leave. We had tears and screaming for a good 10 minutes as they dug around for his vein, and thankfully they got all the blood they needed for the different tests in one go, not like our first day here.
The safari was brilliant, Ant threw live chickens to tigers and lions, and mum threw meat to them. It was sad for the poor chickens though!! We saw giraffes, zebras, kangaroos, monkeys, aligators, emus, bears and loads more… We were driven and taken around the safari area by Tom, the hospital driver, and then we walked around another section of the park. We all had a really good day, well worth a visit.
We’ve spent the rest of the evening, sorting through everything, making sure that we’ve not left anything in drawer, cupboards, and getting everything ready for tomorrow and Tuesday. We are aiming to leave the hospital tomorrow at 1:30pm, which should get us into Shanghai Pu Dong Airport by 4pm. We will then check into the Ramada Airport Hotel, and stay there overnight. We then leave the hotel at 6am the following morning, and then a long day of flying and then HOME!!
