Back to Work

June 22nd, 2009

It is Kyle again and we had a busy weekend.  On Friday night our new friends from England took us out to dinner at the Holiday Inn and it was awesome.  Then on Saturday we took a taxi downtown to the Gemo Market and spent a few hours there before we went to a new Italian resturant and had yet another good meal.  Finally, yesterday we went to a French music festival and had a blast.  But it wasn’t all good.  Once we returned to the hospital, the fire alarm went on and off for 2 and a half hours which drove us nuts.  Also we had KFC for dinner and it was interesting to say the least.  In the chicken sandwich they put peas and carrots right in the meat!  It wasn’t bad though.  Today our fun ended when I started PT at 9.  Rolling was more difficult in the morning than in the afternoon which is odd because without my REAL wheelchair I get tired really easily.  I continue to show more strength in both arms and my jaw, but my neck gets tired because of the chair I am in.  My 5th injection is on wednesday and I will let you all know how it goes.  Cant wait to see everyone in 2 and a half weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe you should host a party when you get home and serve-up the “interesting” foods you’ve discovered – and the drinks Andew has found. Thanks for the update… it felt like a long weekend without a blog entry. Sounds like a busy weekend. Was the French music concert contempory music? Rock? Classical? — Summer is finally here in WI. Hot and HUMID! We’re all looking forward to your return. Keep working hard.- love Rick

Good Morning all! I just finished catching up on your entries. Sounds like Kyle just keeps improving. Sorry about the acupunture tho. Sounds very uncomfortable. But all in all, you continue to amaze everyone! It’s going to be HOT and humid the next few days. Heat indexes at 103 tomorrow! Stay positive, you will soon be on the count down to coming home! Be safe!

I agree with Rick, the withdrawls this weekend were terrible. I am sad I won’t see you right when you get home, but you never know I might try to come home in my 24 hours off!!! The weather is great for swimming, it’s supposed to hit 90 tomorrow! I am headed to Madison today to try to get a few last minute things for camp. Remember to call when you get home and leave a message, I will call you when I can. Can’t wait to hear from you!

    Hey Kyle -
Sounds as though things are going well. Good luck with the 5th injection. It is wonderful news of all the progress you are making. Stay strong. Dorian has fully recovered from his surgery. Back to his ole’ self. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing : ) Mike and Dorian went fishing with your dad and Jeremy but in separate boats. Dorian got in your dads boat for awhile and I think he drove them both nuts with all the questions he was asking. Inquisitive minds at that age. Dorian had a great time though. Can’t wait to see you guys and now it’s the COUNTDOWN. Take care.
