I had my last spinal yesterday which was monday here in China. It went fine. I was in and out in fifteen minutes. Today I went downtown to have an eye exam at the clinic that I went to when I first got here. I think that I got better results this time than last time. My mom and I just got back from walking to a local french market down the way from the hospital. It was very nice. We bought muffins, poumd cake and another type of cake with raspberry topping. Tonight my mom and I are going to The Holiday Inn for dinner with several other families. I think that it will be fun. This will be our first time eating there for dinner. One more day left and we are out of here back to California. Bye for now Matt

Way to go! Quite a series of events you have been through. I am sure you had many different feelings about what might happen while you were in China. I hope that you were – are rewarded for facing this challenge and whatever uncertainties you might have had. You are on the tailend of one of your life milestones, we are happy for you to have had this experience and a chance at something new and exciting. Love the Sac Sims’ Have a great trip home. I am thrilled that you are finished with your treatments Matt and that you and your Mom are returning soon. I have missed our walks Diana and am looking forward to starting them back up. I wanted to let Matt know that he didn’t miss much with Good Old Days this year. It was pretty lame as the carnival was on High Street. Everything was seperated (softball games, carnival rides, artisan booths, etc) So if you weren’t willing to walk or drive all over town then you missed some things. We went to the Pancake breakfast with Casey’s family but there was no parade after. A small group with a fire truck drove down the street honking and hollering (they were unhappy about the parade being cancelled) so they made their own. The carnival was cramped onto High Street and was very expensive ($3 per ride). I have been forwarding your blogs to Casey and Loni so we can all keep informed. I am so thrilled that you are having improvements in your vision. God is great isn’t He! I haven’t been using the computer much since having the detached retina. It seems to strain that eye a little. My vision is still wavy which makes it difficult to read. Have a good safe trip home. We are looking forward to hearing all about your treatments and adventures. Love, Peggy

Yay for you, Matteo! Can’t wait to see you and have you tell us in person about some of your adventures there! We shall continue to pray for ongoing improvements for your vision. Hold onto your TRUST stone– all shall be well!
You are brave! See you soon.

P.S. I loved your mom’s essay on the sounds of China!
