up and around-feeling good with no head ache! :)
Yeah!! Four down and 2 to go. I don’t know if it is getting any easier but we do know what to expect now and are better prepared, both mentally and physically. Nate always gets his bed side table ready with things he might want while he is lying flat, I posted a picture of his set up-he’s so organized. It has been 3 hours. We have movies ready for tonite and I have just been reading this afternoon. I downloaded several books but didn’t bring many as I was worried about the weight in the suitcases. I am into a book now called ‘Cathedral of the Sea’ by Ilfonoso Falcones which reminds me a lot of Ken Follet’s book ‘Pillars of the Earth’. It is a long one but good so far. There is a shared library on this floor that has an interesting selection. This is a copy of Angels and Demons in Arabic, I wonder what they think of the book? Also, I did not know that their books are backwards from ours, so they read back to front. Here is another ‘international fact’. Did you know babies in China don’t wear diapers? Why didn’t anyone tell me this? It explains a few things. I didn’t notice until we were in Bejing and we saw many little bare baby bottoms so I googled it when we got home. You should google it too if you are interested.
Well, 6 long hours later….I hope he can do this one more time. We just have to keep our minds on the reward. The weather cooperated today as it has been cloudy and raining, that makes for a quieter day because they let up a little on the construction behind our building. Have a good day!! Love, Nan & Nate

Keep those headaches away! Your adventures are very interesting and educational to say the least. I did not know about reading backwards. Maybe some books would be more interesting that way!! The summer heat has hit this week and there is no place to go except the pool. (to cool off).
I did not know the baby diaper situation either, which seems very interesting or disturbing!

One to go!!! We need to plan lunch when you get home so I can hear all of the news firsthand. Will you be home in time for July 4th? What a celebration that will be. I know it gets a little long about this time. Hang in there and know your friends are all pulling for you both. Knowing you two, you’ve met some great friends over there. The Iran demonstrations have been on CNN constantly. Do you get international news. There have been demonstrations since the Iranian elections about 3 days ago. Interesting. Take care.

Dears, We are at the cabin and send love from the mountains. Yesterday we had a doe have her baby in our front yard – didn’t actually see the event, but saw the little one just afterward – what a darling! We are so interested in all your news and delighted you can see a little improvement!! XXXOOO Jean and Chuck

Those nurses are so cute, Nate might want to just hang around after the treatments. I can vouch that nurses make good mates. It sounds like you got the routine down. We could all probably benefit from a block of time of forced relaxation ( without the shot in the back however )
Speaking of babies without diapers, I saw Ronald McDonald with out any clothes. He had sesane seed buns !
Take care, Scott

Nate & Nan,
Good to hear your day of treatment went well. I was listening to PBS radio and heard a commentary about hyperbaric oxygen treatments stimulating stem cell growth. Has Doug run across anything about that in his research? I can’t cite the source, and a little bit of incomplele information can be dangerous, but it was interesting to listen to and did make be think. Only two more weeks! Nebraska will never look so good!
Love, Donna & Dan

Hi Nate and Nan,
We’re back from Kansas, good trip to see my Dad.
I can only imagine how you two will feel when you return home.
So glad you are down 4 treatments and have 2 to go, the end is in sight. Yahoo!
It’s so interesting to hear all you are learning about the Chinese culture, you will be amazing experts.
I’m thinking Doug and the girls are going to San Diego Thur. for Ryan’s wedding. Know how you will be there in mind and spirit. I think they are trying to see Scott & Rachael while there. Did you know that S& Rachael set the date for their wedding for Feb. 6, ‘ 10, in San Diego at Sunset Cliffs so you can look forward to that get away we hope.
We hope you are handling treatment 4 well, Nate, with no or only slight headaches. Keep eating soup and whatever suits your fancy.
We love you!
Love,
Nancy & Bob

I am so glad you are nearing the end.
I am heading up to glenwood to see bill end the race tomorrow. He sounds more worn out each day but he’s still going. Independence pass is the last big climb he has today.
I love hearing about the food!
