hi to nate or nates mother i live in the uk my partner also has sca type 7 we have considered stem cell treatment in china but have spoken to a man in the uk who has sca7 and had stem cell theraphy in china with no benefit im just wandering how many cag repeats your son has ? is he only one in the family who has it or other family members to and your experience in china i no these are personal questions you dont have to tell me but it would help my partner who has sca 7 and is considering treatment for it but need to no wether it will work like if your son has small bit of the defaulted gene or repeat it might be lrss severe than my partners or the same or slightly worst you see the doctors in china can not tell wether or not it would be beneficial thats why contacting some one who has sca7 and who has went through treatment already and has succes many thanks katrina if you would like to talk to me my email is katrina.porter@hotmail.co.uk thank you.

hi ive just come across your blog after typing in treatment for sca 7 which i do every month or so to see what comes up ive heard about china stem cells me and my partner went to one whilst our son was ill in hospital with infantile sca7 my partner has sca7 there is only him and one other man in the uk who has this sca type 7 but the other man we contacted as his son also inherited infantile sca 7 and llater died he also went to china for treatment but said it did not have any effect at all on his condition im very intrested in your story as there is no none cure as yet for this condition if you have any info on the treatment and wether or not how strong your sca 7 is my partners 42 and he has cag repeat of 39 i would like to speak to you to ask a few questions if that is possible you can contact me on my email if you want thanks katrina

Hi Nate,
from 1995 – 2004, I was helping one family from the church I’ve attended at that time, whose mother and 2 (out of 3) daughters have the same Spino-Cerebellar Ataxia (Type-7).
Their neurologist told them recently, that they have to wait 20 -30 years to get the stem cell treatement here in Canada.

I wonder if you could tell me how much this treatement costs in China, and how many treatements are necessary?

Meanwhile, we have seen in Novembre 2010, on Oprah show, a miracle healer from Brazil, JOHN OF GOD.
I’ve already received one distance healing from him.
So the eldest daughter decided to go to see him in Brazil this spring. (The healing is free, though some offering is a must).

Hi. I check on this blog every so often, and was so glad to see something new on it today! I can’t believe Nate will be 18 and off to college! What college will he be attending, and what is he interested in studying, etc.? Good work on the physical therapy, diet, and working on the mind, spiritual and health aspects of things. Of all of these, the spiritual stands out to me as the most significant, but they all need to work together. Nate, you are a good person and God has a purpose for your life. He chose you for something special, something most other young people your age wouldn’t be able to handle. He has given you the strength—emotional, spiritual, physical, and mental—to handle all that has been dealt you, He has also given these things to your family for a reason, and some day it will all be better understood. I admire your courage and your family’s courage, I continue to keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers. I think of you often, and pray that God will continue to give you the strength and courage to get through this. Take care, and thanks for the update!

Hello there.
My name is James (Jim) Reeder and we just had an overnight visit with a class mate’s of Nate’s (Jarrod) who filled us in on Nates situation W/ataxia. After listening to the circumstances and the progression of the symptoms,I started thinking
(outside of the diagnostic box). I was informed that Nate was a good wrestler in highschool when these symptoms started to occur. Then the visual and ataxia started to creep into the picture.
I deal with alot of whiplash and neck injuries and these closely resemble(VAS) vertebral artery syndrome which is an injury that can covertly develope because the ossification of the spinal structures in adolecence and teenagers is not complete and can (under the right circumstances) cause a vertebra to misalign and compress, not only a nerve, the artery as well. With the artery compressed it can gradually decrease the flow to a part of the brain and allow symptoms to develope. You can GOOGLE the VAS and see the comparison the the cuerrent symptoms. If you would like to see a Neurologist in California the person I would like to reccommend to you is
Dr. Scott Halderman DC. MD. PHD. Altho. He is very familiar with these conditions and more probably than not be a good source of help. I hope this information helps in your search for healing. This could also be a result of an undetected closed head injury, secondary to a sports injury. Consider the wrenching of the neck in a highly competitive wrestling match.
You can also see substantial information on the CDC web site for the suttle symptoms of the closed head injuries.
