November 7th, 2008

The days until we go to China are drawing to a close..only four to go. Both Joanne and I can’t wait. After hearing three neurologists say there are no treatment options for Ataxia, we have hope that the stem cell treatments will “roll the clock back”as several people have said who have gone through the program.

As usual Joanne is packing enough stuff for a six month safari on “Survivor China”. I’m trying to go with one carry-on. No doubt the right amount is somewhere in between.

    Hi Al,

How exciting and hopeful I am for your trip. Just like the election, my mantra for your trip is: YES WE CAN!

Make sure mom doesn’t pack the provolone.

    Hi Al,

Hope you and Joanne have a good trip over. Yes, neurologists out our way will always say “no treatment” and leave it at that. Good thing we listen to others and make up out own mind about some things…I know what you mean about packing…it’s always tough. Wait till you have to pack to come home!!! Best wishes…

    Hi Al and Mom,

Thank God it’s Friday! What a long week. But, noit without good news. I was told I am getting a bonus (5 figures) for 2007 (the year I got very little). They also said that it was only a band aid and were going to find a new way to compensate me so I could make more money. Guess working so hard is worth it after all. Have treatments started? Please let me know EVERYTHING!!! Much love,Chris

    Hi All and Joanne,

We are so glad to hear of your safe arrival! You are in the intentions of our prayer chain at Peace of Christ parish (along with our own). Probably no provolone in China but you can get your fill when you get back here. : – )

    Love,
Charles, Patty, Christine, Mary and Mary Ann.

Hi Al, I knew the second I started reading today’s blog that it was you. It was your sense of humor. Very funny. Can’t wait to hear how it goes. Did the doctor tell you if you would be able to understand Chinese….that’s the important part!!!
All my love to you both….has Joanne found a kitchen she could start cooking in, yet????? Marie

    Hi Al and Joanne,
I have been waiting to hear from you and forgot to look in my other aol account. Sorry for the delayed response, but I am so happy to hear that things are going well and you have adjusted to your surroundings. I know the waiting has to be the most difficult part, but know we are all here thinking of you. Thanks for writing and I read the Secret Life of Bees and loved it! Best of luck,
    Shannon

    Hi Al ,
That is great news that you are jumping. It seems that in life the simplest of things are usually the most important. A lesson we all know but forget in are everyday life. Keep up the good work . Love Sherry
