November 17th, 2008

Another day in the big house. The screws are keeping the inmates quiet by threatening to hose us down.  I’m scheduled for an IV this afternoon and they are already two hours late.  The stemcells haven’t arrived yet.  I asked the Doctor if I receive the Chinese stemcells, will I be able to speak Chinese.  I’ve met a lot of people with similar conditions and hope to keep in contact with them in the future.  Thanks for your kind words in the comments.  Best wishes, Al

    Hi Al and Mom,

How did today go? Was thinking of you all day. Have my fingers crossed. Pal Joey was good-but no great shakes. Martha Plimpton was really the standout in the cast. This week looks fairly hectic here and just now shoring up thanksgiving plans. We have to make everything and bring it to the Showroom! Hope to hear from you soon.

Al, since I was in China in 1945 there are 2 words I still remember:
“Ding How” means : Good &

    “Boo How” means :Bad

I wonder if they still recognize them as there were diffiernt
    dialects I believe.

    Hi Joanne and Al:

Not sure you received my first message so I’ll try again. It sounds like you are in the company of many nice people. I’m sure they will help you get through the next few weeks. Jim wondered if you would speak Chinese, also. Best of luck, we’ll be thinking about you.
    Mary and Jim
