happy sunday
howdy! hubby and i are in my hospital room waiting for david and yeilee to get here. they’re going to take us out to dinner. tonight’s nurse is a nice one! i just went out there to ask where my medicine is that i’m supposed to take at 8pm. she told me it’s on my table. she came into the room and showed me! hahah
i didn’t realize she had already changed it!
they give me medicine to take at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and 8pm. the first three are to help “repair the nerve and improve blood circulation, change microenvironment of brain” and the 2 i take at 8pm is to control blood fat (hehe
; i think they mean my cholesterol levels) and a chinese medicine called an shen bu nao pian which is to help me sleep. william had a fit when i told him that because he thought it was a western medicine! we specifically told the junior doctors our first day here about this and that i MUST NOT TAKE ANY SLEEPING PILLS! due to the bad experience i had in japan which basically put me in a semi-comatose state.
now, so far, i receive 2 bags of IV in the mornings. these bags are to help get my body ready for the stem cell therapy. they’re giving me a drug cocktail to stimulate my own stem cells to recover/regenerate and to prepare my brain for the stem cell therapy.
at first, i was very very nervous about it, but now, after having received them since last thursday, it’s no problem–well, other than me having very very thin veins. so they’ve had a hard time finding veins. luckily i am very accustomed to getting stuck with needles, i sit there and watch and tell them where to stick me! haha
yesteray they stuck me in the back of my left hand on top. i knew it wasn’t a good place but i just let them stick me. now, because my needle was right there, i must’ve accidentally hit the needle sometime because it was bent in half which is why when they tried to start my IVs, it wouldn’t go in and so they had to stick in further up my left arm. luckily getting stuck with needles do not bother me at all.
i can also show you the results on my back from my cupping sessions with rose, my TCM therapist.
i’m just anxious to hurry up and start my stem cell therapy which hopefully will start after their week-long holiday until may 7th.

we came back from a great dinner with david and yeilee and man, william and i both overate….AGAIN! i have to be careful because while i was waiting for my MRI this morning which was in the tiantan hospital nearby (5-minute walk), i found the scale in the room. i weighed myself and i’ve gained 2 kilograms since i’ve checked in! arrrgh!!!!!!!!!!! >:-( so i started to diet today. but since we went out to eat and it was all good chinese food, both william and i overate! sigh. more dieting tomorrow. i brought back lots of leftovers which are in my little fridge here in my room. it’s great because i can just put them on the plates and warm them up in the microwave.
i have lots of pictures to show you of my room and IVs, but i still haven’t figured it out yet. hopefully the computer people will help me tomorrow before they are off for a whole week for their may holiday! i’m hoping it works out.
william went home after we walked back to my room because he had forgotten that he has meetings in the morning tomorrow. he was looking forward to staying here because we have fun watching DVDs on my laptop, but since he went home, i will go to bed now–11pm.
ok, just for some fun then….
When he is tapped on his shoulder by a little old lady.
She offers him a handful of peanuts.
Which he gratefully munches up.
After about 15 minutes, she taps him on his shoulder again and she
hands him another handful of peanuts.
She repeats this gesture about five more times.
When she is about to hand him another batch again He asks the little
old lady, Why don’t you eat the peanuts yourself?
“We can’t chew them because we’ve no teeth”, she replied.
The puzzled driver asks, “Why do you buy them then?”
The old lady replied, “We just love the chocolate around them.”
It pays to be careful around old people.
