Well today we are like zombie’s for the want of sleep. Sam is still on Irish time, so night time here is day time for Sam. Today Sam had some tests done, he had been fasting from midnight so he was starving, i felt so sorry for him he was crying during the night and i was unable to comfort him. He had his blood work done ay 8.30 this morning, once they were done he was allowed to eat. He wolfed down 3 weetabix which is unusual for him. Dr. Apple came to us at 9.45 to arrange for Sam to have some x-rays, a c.t scan and an e.c.g. whuch were all done in such a short time. The x-ray and c.t room’s are quite scary, the door’s are like something you see in a war film, a gas chamber to be precice. Tom the physio also called today to asses Sam for his therapy, all going well he will start his p.t, o.t and accupressure monday. We haven’t recieved his stem cell schedule yet as the doctors are waiting on the results of the tests to decide what way it’s best for Sam to recieve the stem cell. We didn’t go outside today so dinner was ordered in for us. We had spring rolls, which would feed at least 6 people we also had veg fried rice and a chicken dish. All were quite good and very cheap. The lot of it cost 30 rmb which is about €3. All in all every day living is a doodle compared to back home……

October 18th, 2009 by babysamLast night none of us slept at all, and the night went by so slow. We decided to venture to the shops today. The shopping outlet is huge, i thought dundrum centre was big well it ain’t compared to this. Inside theres a rollercoaster, something along the line of oakwood with a pirate theme. It’s funny how people stare at you especially at Sam. I feel like a celebrity but it does daunt you a bit… Sam was unsettled while we were there so we took him back to the hospital to have a sleep. I took a chance on walking back to the shops to get a few bits and bobs for dinner but once i got there i decided not to just something i seen really turned my stomach,i’ll say no more on that!!:):) When i got back to the hospital Sam was still sleeping. Davy had ordered food for us this evening and to be honest i didn’t care for it too much, i’m getting fed up of the same thing every day. Tomorrow we plan to have dinner at the holiday inn. I think Sam may be coming down with a cold so we’ll decide in the morning if we are going to take him out.
We want to wish my little sister a very Happy 21st Birthday, wish we were there to celebrate with you xxxx

Brave little Sam
I was born on Sunday February 25th, 2007, at 07:55 weighing 7lbs 4 oz
In June of 2007 I stopped breathing and was taken to hospital.
The doctors there told my Mum & Dad that I would have to go to Crumlin hospital in Dublin as I was very ill. After a number of tests were done, my Mum and Dad were told that I had a bleed to the brain, and that I was now blind.
Since then I get seizures, epilepsy, and am suffering from Severe Developmental Delay. I have various other health issues, all related to my condition, and my Mum needs to take me to the hospital quite often.
Now after all the people that helped with fundraising, my Mam and Dad can taking me to China to start my treatment on October 14th 2009, I am looking forward to meeting all the nurses and doctors there!
