The internet is not cooperating today
January 5th, 2008
Don’t know if all of Shenyang or all of this area of China is on and it’s very busy, but i’ve had to fight all day to get on. And it’s super slow if i do get on at all. I just hope this will actually post when i ask it to.
Another awesome day at physio though. Becky opted out of acupuncture today, it’s really really not her favourite thing. But then at morning physio with Jimmy, well, she had Jimmy applauding, so i heard. I was hear fighting with the computer to get to read the comments from yesterday. But she did the stairs ‘like a big person’ one step for each foot, instead of one step up and feet together, you know? Awww, it’s so nice to see. These accomplishments mean a lot. And this afternoon with Jennifer, Becky walked back and forth across the physio room a few times. I said she needed a bigger room now!! all good, real good.
Tomorrow, Sunday, is a day off. We plan to eat at the Sheraton one last time – lunch time. We are deciding whether to go to the Forbidden City Palace or to the Antique Market in the morning. The weather may decide it for us, although we actually don’t know if either is indoors ![]()
the weather was very mild today, i walked to the store and back. Some of our last shopping trips, lettuce, fruit, beer and other essentials. It’s a little lonely around here now, as we’ve had 3 patients go home in the last 2 days. And we are on the last stretch ourselves – trying not to live ahead of today.
Take care everyone! love and more love from china
Becky, Pat and kim

Wow! Everything about this trip, medical technology and online updates are amazing.
I have been reading this blog for only a few days. I joined the facebook group before your departure to China, but only recently remembered that I could see how things are going over there.
I hope you know that although many may not leave a comment on here, that they are reading your updates . Your family has a country side of friends new and very very old praying for you every step of the way. Becky, your daily efforts and results are truly applauded. May you have continued strength for the remainder of your treatments and many boosts of encouragement when you get back home.
Thoughts & Prayers to you all from the Farough family.
We moved from Whitehorse to Estevan in 1980 and lived with Pat’s family while we bought a home & before we could move in. Growing up we spent time visiting with the family and Pat was the lifeguard at the Woodlawn pool where I spent a majority of my summers. My parents still spend an annual camping trip with Leanne & Roy.
Your family’s presence in our lives made a life long impact and I hope our prayers make a difference in yours as well.
Across the miles and years,
Love & support from Bev & Linda Farough, Lisa Farough & Michelle Farough Bartsch & our families.

Good Morning To All of You, spoke with Nana today (Saturday Jan 5th) and she told me the GREAT news of the the stair climbing. I just finished ready the last week of news from the blog as my laptop is done and I can only read from work. Everytime I read the news it brings tears of JOY to my eyes. Roy and I are so proud of all of you for taking this challenge and obviously the rewards are paying off.
Bethany arrived safe and sound in Estevan and we spoke a little this morning also. Once again the plane ride over-whelmed her and made her think of the worst case situations. I always have a little laugh when she tells me the story of her flying. She is so busy catching up with all her friends and trying to spend as much time with all of them that the days are just flying by. She is anxiously waiting for your arrival home and I know that there will be many tears of happiness from all. Roy and I are off Tuesday to our warm and sunny holiday, so I will call you when we arrive back to Calgary. Keep up the great work and we miss you dearly.
Love Lee-Ann

Wonderful news…sounds as tho everything is going well. Even the pesky headaches are a thing of the past. By the way, Kim, I was doing some post-xmas shopping at a discount store, no names mentioned, and I saw a chocolate fountain on sale for only $29.99!! What do you think…..need a belated birthday present?? Only a few days left in China, best wishes for a safe trip home.
Thinking of all of you!!

I expect you to march up those air plane steps in a very few days, Becky. I admire your courage during your ordeal.
Canada won the Gold in Junior Hockey this afternoon. We also won Gold in the Spengler Cup and in under 17 Hockey. This is for Pat.
