Breakfasts are ineresting ..they have a bowl of hot rice congee with pickled vegetables something to die for…instead of a doughnut & coffee they have youtiao & doujiang ..figure that one out????

therefore I have been trying to get a toaster for 3 days finally have ..But no wholewheat bread here …Bread u think is rye turns out 2 be sweet…diabetes all to hell
one nurse brought me a legume that grows on the river bank ..she told me to eat eat so I started to..when she stopped me & said I had 2 peel it first looked like three times the size of a Brazialin nut with a softer shell didnt taste that bad cant compare it to anything i have ate ..Brad didnt like it ..
weatheer here in mid 20s everyday with lots of sun But in the morning a lot of smog think of Hamilton only 10 time worse & this smog stinks ..seeems 2 go away by midday…
still no hot water we have reserved to the fact we wont see it & have bought a kettle to boil it just like the good old day & who say they dont want 2 go back 2 the good old days…..lots of fun
oh ya the mystery has been solved they do eat dog here in all of China but in the north they dont eat cat But in the south they do..so now U know… I cant tell Uwhat else they eat in the south U have to come here & find out for yourself….
Speaking of cars anyone that drives has an old small one ..& the used market here is 2 grow by 20% next year bicycles are old like we drove in the 40s & 50s lot of them….
Fortunetly we came in the fall as they do get snow with not a snowplow to there name ..sort of like Regina ..Everyone walks when this happens or waits for the snow 2 melt..amazing ….
oh ya it is Sunday here & the NFL is just about 2 start so if u guys want the score just ask..
It is 8:30 here so have 2 get Brad up for therapy ..usually they dont work sunday but since wed. is a holiday they will take wed .off next week .. they work six days / week monday 2 sat. with usually sun. off.
People here in Shenyang have yet to see the Great Wall I guess it would be similar to us in Regina not seeing the Mtns. & our only mode of transportation was a bicycle ../horse /or walk ..
Steph comes tommorrow ..which will be nice ..as we will have a placew 2 shower ..what she will eat will have 2 be decided as she is pretty fusssy ..
oh ya they have a nudey bar on the river right across from the hospital …only thing is it doesnt open until 10 & if we leave after nine p.m. we get locked out for the night ..so far I have been locked out only twice….no women allowe unless u are naked ..
got 2 get Brad up for therapy [ so xia ci jian ]

Brad first treatment
Treament went real well …they take u in your bed or should I say I take him in his bed…me the caretaker does everything…has his injections which takes anywhere from 15min 2 half hour then wheel him back to his room where he lies on his back for six hours..got him a pet cockroach & put it on the ceiling so he had a lot of fun watching it run around…middle of the night he got an excruciating headache …but I told him i was staying till the end the headache is not uncoommon & lasts for 2-3 days ..He managed 2 go 2 HIS THERAPY & accupunture…everything was good by 3p.m. as he went out with this other caregiver & they got there hair washed & nails pedicured he thought this was great as he never had a pedicure before… all for the price of 7-dollars ..I will be going soon …It is now sunday & nfl football as just started so if u guys want 2 know the results I can give them 2 U…
Weather has just been great mid 20s ..but smog in the morning very bad think of a hamilton only 10 times worse …

I now know why the women here are always smiling everywhere u go they give u a big smile ..first & foremost there are a lot more men in this country than women ..therefore women are always getting some… while the men that smiling are about to get some… the men that have small frowns on there faces just got some .. the men that look mad & irritable & miserable are not getting any for a long time …. we are starting to look irritable have a nice day

27th & 28TH
Everything going great here finally got out 2 see some of the city a river Yang is right across from the hospital with a lovely park around it ..went for a nice walk ..if u ever thought u could drive without road rage come here ..very few lights ..lots of pedestrions & bicycles ..the city is ancient with ancient architecture ..woke up every morning with horns a blowing ..finally found out why??? this was as u drive & a bicycle or pedestrion gets in your way u beep your horn ..another car gets in your way u beep your horn nobody ever gets annoyed just keep going our first taxi was to all places Wallmart where we bought a toaster hot plate etc. etc what people do is buy these things needed & leave them for the next patients …always someone coming & going ..went for another taxi ride today & if you ever were at a exhibition this would have scared the pants off of U unreal after that ride I wanted a treatment…if I was a fisherman I cocould fish rith across from th hospital ..dont know whrt I would do with it …went 2 the fish dept in wallmart ..small little turtles wrapped in what looked like asparagus ..monkey brains something from the sea I don’t have a clue what it was ..very busy though ..people shop everyday because they have no fridge …

in an hour Brad has his first treatment ..they take him in his bed & when he gets back he has 2 lie straight for 6 hrs. hope he doesnt have 2 go to the bathroom …
bought six chineese beer today they were 90-cents this should last me the trip ….

Just got back from Vancouver and happy to see your blog and information about your trip and Brad’s treatment. We’ll be anxious for updates and hopefully lots of success stories and of course we hope you have a bit of fun in China. Have you learned the language yet? Weather still warm in B.C. up at 7a.m. nurses take Brads blood 8:30 c goes for m.r.i. one channel onof english on t.v. of about 60.. is like a cnn china news channel .. found out 160 million here use the internet.. this week-end is what they call the Moon festival the second biggest holiday here everone celebrates by buying a moon cake & looking at the moon …& dancing in varios costumes in the street should be very colorful & interesting …crazy my cell phone rang twice ..go figure wrong # ..Brad got his schedule for therapy ..they work 6 days /week & have sunday off ..so we will take in the local sites then …when not dong therapy allowed to go out have a wholesale market here which is 5 floors & each floor the size of Cosco ..have 2 bargain for everythng…found out that Brads first stem cell is on the 28th & after he receives it he has to lie straight on bed ..not move for 6hrs… the beds are like sleeping on 3/4 inch plywood …inbetween therapy we will go shopping for essentials ..as for the first 2 days our neighbors were very helpful ..ther is one billion stories in this city & you have heard one of them ..found out u can buy episodes of seinfeld ,,greys antatomy..prison-break for 1 dollar ..we do have a dvd player ..so should be interesting bye for now

up-date
left regina & was on the same plane as the damn B.C. lions they were extremely happyafter kicking our ass ..went 2 Van & cleared customs took over 2hrs lot of people travelling internationally..trip to beijing 11hrs we had 2 meals as the flight was 11hrs long about 6 canadians on this flight of over 200 ..from beijing cleared customs & had a 5hr wait for shenyang which is 800km north of beijing ..we were the only 2 wht people on this plane & the only ones that spoke english ..the only words they new was hello & thank-you ..but we managed ..arrived in shenyang 11:35 p.m. so some where we travelled on 4 planes took over 14 hrs in flight & lost a day ??? picked up by a wonderful gentleman & taken to the hospital & went strt to bed..weather in beijing was 28c & in shenyang 25c hot & muggy ..they say weather similar to Toronto here with a little less snow in the winter…Hospital room on the 10th floor room has 2 beds & a washroom ..one washroom ..shower sink & toilet all in a small space ..plumbing very arcaic if u shower u will hit the top of the toilet …hot water is on for 1 hr a day 8-9 at night been here 3 days & not on yet …they supply nothing not even toilet paper & the caregiver has 2 do everything take them to all ther therapy bath them etc. etc ..fortunately Brad can get around as most are in wheel chairs ..met 2 people from australia ..one from Montana ..one from vancouver ..one from india ..ther deseases ranged from M.S…….lou gerghig desese to a 26 year old who crashed in switzerland skyjumping .. some have been here 2wks some longer some just arrived so we get 2 speak some english ..2 of the staff speak very good english… no cafeteria so we have to fend for ourselves for all meals have order in for lunch & supper but breaky you are on your own …All food tastes the same chicken like pizza ..pizza like spagetti …went out yeserday & bought what we thought was a chicken BUT i think it was a little duck..drink a lot of water & going out to buy bread …oh ya hospital closes down at 9p.m. if u are out after 9 u are locked out till next day…quite the differance from wht we r used 2 ..this was our first day here im loosing my strength so i will sign off for now wish u all were here Luv Lorne

1st got looked at by 6 different doctors, then met my doctor.day 2 mri,then acupuncture,then physo 4 45 min.
