Bradens Treat!!!

July 13th, 2008

Capt. Harry, LOL! Following in Pop Pop & U. Teddys footstepsOlder than DirtDolphins, Dolphins and more DolphinsOutside of Polar World  I just found out that the camera that I have been taking all of my pictures with is broken.  I am glad that I bought the warranty but my picture taking is going to slow down untill I resolve the issue.  It shouldnt take long, but Im not sure what I am going to do.

Today Braden and his father Brad were suppose to take us around in a Van, but Brad ended up getting a stomach ache and stayed home, But Braden and the rest of us still went.  10 of us total,Braden, Bradley,Macie, and Garrett were the kids and Teresa,Don,Kieth,Jenifer,Shell, and myself were the adults.  1st we went to JUSCO which is a mall and the kids got treated to Mickey D’s.  They loved it.  Then we went to Polar world and saw Penguins, seals, walrus’s,Polar bears, Whales and Dolphins.  The had a neat little show and the kids were put on to the teleprompter, it was entertaining. After the long day we stopped for a nice cup of Baskin Robbins to finish off the trip.  Again a very nice day.

I am going to go for now but I wanted to make sure we start gearing up for Wednesdays’ Spinal Stem Cell Procedure. Please pray for super duper cells and that God annoints the Doctors as well as the cells so that a maxium effect occurs from this Procedure.  We love you very much,  Oh yeah, we are getting alot of feed back and i love it, please keep dropping lines to us, they are very incouraging.  Sorry if we dont respond but we will get to it sooner or later. Again Thank you.  Todd and Bradley

    Hi, Todd and Brad,

Your entry on Saturday sounds like just another day in America…glad you had a chance to enjoy some familiar things, and that you are taking time to see the new and unfamiliar!

My whole church in Williamsburg is praying for the treatments to restore Brad’s eyesight 100%. I’ve sent the blog link to some friends, so don’t be surprised if you hear from more people from Williamsburg.

How many total treatments are there? Do you start with a set number or do the doctors decide as they see what progress is being made?

I’m glad the iv treatments are easier, but I wish they were the ones that were more effective. At least Brad can do something and move around some while he’s getting the treatment, though. Brad, do you listen to books on CD or tape? We get gretat audio books at the library, and it’s a great luxury to sit and listen to good stories read by narrators who “act out” the different roles. If you have a portable CD player or cassette player, we’ll send you some of our kids favorites, or whatever kind of story you like. I expect you can get CD’s or tapes in English there, though.

Todd, sorry about your camera. Hope you can get it fixed or replaced. That doesn’t make up for lost pictures, but we’ve all got pictures in our minds because of what your post on the blog. It’s great fun to read!

Okay, I’ll sign off for now, and watch eagerly for your next entry.

    Hello Bradley and Todd,

I’ll be thinking of you, your doctor’s and your next treatment on Wednesday (?) and sending up prayers, but in the meantime, I’m so excited that you are having all these wonderful sight-seeing experiences! You mentioned Wendy, your interpreter. I imagine that she is just one of your guardian angels. Tell us about some of the others.

Now that I think about it, Bradley, you do look a little like Harry Potter! You probably made that little boy’s day! I’ve no doubt that you were even more charming than Harry [the movie star], would have been!

Anne, Barbara and I went to a local Chinese restaurant today and thought of you. We wondered if the Chinese food tastes like our American-Chinese cuisine, or is it a bit different. Anne said that the European-Chinese dishes don’t seem to use as much sauce as ours do here. It’s so amazing that you can go to the other side of the world and still go to McDonald’s and Baskin Robins! The first time I left American almost 30 years ago for a visit in Egypt, I dreamed about biting into a Big Mac all the way home! What a difference a few decades make!

On Thursday, I’m driving down to visit with Olivia, Caleb and the family for a few days. It won’t be the same without you! Can’t wait to see you on this side of the Atlantic!

    Love,
    Aunt Pat

    Bradley & Todd:
You don’t know us (my husband George and son, Chris) but we come to Chincoteague just about every year (heaven on earth!) and stay either at Dove Winds or the Bradley Ln. house. Mary Ann and Tommy told us about your upcoming trip to China. We’ve been praying for you, Bradley. We’ll keep checking your blog to see how you’re doing. God is good….ALL the time!

Amy is on her way to Norfolk as we speak, she may even be there by now. I’m so glad she will be sharing the experience with you guys in China..

    What up guys?
Missed you guys in church on Sunday but you already knew you were missed cause Angie told you before I did. Man she ticks me off sometimes. lol Todd you would have sent me a text telling me to smile because I wasn’t doing much of that. I was just tired! But aren’t I always?
Sorry to hear about your camera. That stinks on ice!! I’m sure you’ll get it taken care of though.
You know Brad, just cause Trey is gone doesn’t mean that you can’t call. If you want to sit down and chat with any of us you can. Aldyn of course has been asking for you. We were talking to the Umphlett’s tonight on the webcam and she was asking to talk to you. lol Trey is doing a sailing day camp while he’s in NC. Today was his first day and he loved it. I’m sure he will have lots of fun things to tell you about. He’s being exposed to the sun and fresh air, I’m not sure I’ll know him when he gets home.
I’m so excited for you both that Amy will be there with you both in a day or so . . . or a few hours . . . or whatever. I know that she can’t wait to see you and you her. Enjoy each other! And don’t worry about the traveling. They will be just fine.
We love you both and think about you all the time! Our prayers are with you! Hug each other for me!

Keep up the good work Bradley! I know it is hard to believe that a boring thing like acupuncture actually works, but it does!! All you need to do is think about the miracle that God is working with these little needles that you barely feel. Kayleigh, Angus, Joel and I have you in our thoughts and prayers. Angus asked me the other day if we can go and see China. I told him yes…i just didn’t know when. We are back up in Anchorage and all set up in our house and can finally get online to keep up with your adventure. We love and miss you!! Cousin Laura

    Hey guys,

I just read Macie’s blog and saw she might try to stay awake also. I’m thinking of you guys and hoping you can do it.

Like your dad asked, I’m praying for super duper stem cells. I’ve asked my friends to pray for you guys also.

Bradley, your cousin Caroline was talking to me about you staying up all night before your treatment. You are in all our thoughts and prayers here. We love you.

    Hi Bradley & Todd
I spoke with Amy yesterday just before she left for Norfolk. She is exited to see you both. She and Cheryl met as planned and are now on their way. So it won’t be long before they arrive.

We are praying for your next treatment. I know that all will work for your good and God’s glory. Well Ashley will be leaving for Liberty on August 1. She doesn’t get to stay home as long this time because of teachers workshops and training. She will be going close to the time you will be coming home.

Does Macie have a blog? If so I can’t seem to find it. We feel like we know her from your blogs and the photos. Tell her that we are praying for her too.
    Take care,
    Aunt Donna
