Its my turn!
July 18th, 2008
Hi everyone, I am in China now dealing with jet lag and having a hard time getting adjusted. A little bit of culture shock and a little anxiety about the whole experience. Todd is currently packing to leave. He has had a great time during his stay and is sorry to leave. I think because of all the great people I am meeting here that things will get better for me soon.
We went to Hot Pots the last night with some other families here. Todd really likes this resturant and all though the experience was cool, I had a hard time eating anything. Actually I haven’t eaten much but haven’t been hungry…nerves and scared of what exactly I will be eating. Cheryl is doing better getting adjusted than I am.
Bradley is also doing great. He loves all the people here and the time just hanging out at the hospital sitting around talking to everyone. As for results from the treatment we have not seen anything yet. Bradley thinks his eye movements are getting better but I have not noticed any change. There have been a couple other children here seeing slight changes already though. We have been told from the beginning that it will probably take up to a six months to a year to see the full results. So we are still praying for a miracle…it is in his hands and he knows what is best for Bradley’s life. Thank you for all your prayers for our family and Bradley.
I will post more when I am brave enough to venture out more and have interesting stuff write. ~Amy

It gives us so much information to know how to pray for Bradley and your family. Know that we are here supporting you guys!! We’ll also be praying for Todd as he travels back home this weekend.

In my eyes, you are Amy the Brave just for traveling to China. You remember that picture of you hanging off the trolley car in San Francisco. We need an equally touristy pic of you in China something like that one. I’m sending you a big hug to help you feel more secure. Hope it helps.

Hi Amy!
So glad that you made it there safely, and without complications. Your whole family is in our prayers. I’m glad that you are surrounded by so many great people. It must be comforting to be with other Americans. We have friends leaving for China today on a missions trip. I had hoped that they were going to be near you, and I was going to ask them to stop in to say hello, but China is a big country, and unfortunately they will be nowhere near Qingdao. Hang in there—what you are sacrificing for Bradley is an amazing thing. I pray that God will bless you with peace. Keep us posted on Bradley’s progress!
love, Kara

Hey Amy!
I am very proud of you for making it all the way! When we went over there four years ago, I wanted to turn around and go home when we got to Tokyo. The plane rides are rough and the jet lag stinks!
The food will get better. I am a very picky eater and I found things that I liked eating there. I remember that the sweet and sour chicken was really good over there, and now I am too scared to eat it here in the States because I do not want to get it and it not be good.
Preston and I are missing y’all and we are praying for you often! We are looking forward to hearing all about your trip and experiences via the blog. Keep typing….you’re doing great!
love,
Hannah (& Preston)

Hi Amy!! I must say I am very proud of you for traveling to China! It is true that you will do anything for the welfare of your child. I know that it would be difficult for me to go to a place that is unfamiliar and far way! I am so thakful that the Lord has given you the courage to do it.
I am praying for Bradley and your whole family! Cannot wait to see him back at school and hear his stories and adventures!
Take care!
Robin

Amy-You are so funny! I know you’ll be fine! Do’nt be scared to get out. Just stick with those that know the area and you’ll be okay. Take advantage of the experince and being in a new place. I just Hope that Bradley eventually does benefit! We’ll just have to pray that he does. Again, it is worth the shot to try!! BUt it’s all in God’s hands and what his will is!
I miss you! I hope to get the kids here soon to help your Mom!
I have had no time for beach! I”m too busy with work.

Hi Amy,
I am also sooo Proud of you for doing so well. I can only imagine how hard everything has been. I have learned that God never gives us more than we can handle, even though at times it seems otherwise. You are a strong woman and you are doing a wonderful job with Bradley in China. Just leaving Caleb & Olivia took a lot of courage. I REALLY miss you!! Please check your email..
Praying for you and Bradley!
Love,
Kelley
