One of the highlights of our trip!!

Tonight, Jack one of the translators invited us to his apartment for dinner.  Jack has been a very good friend to Bradley and us and we were so excited to have him offer to cook for us…and boy did he cook!!  Jack has a lot of energy!!  He cooked about 5 different dishes for us and they all were sooooo good!  We told him he should become a chef.  He lives with some of the other acupuncturist and physical therapist who work for Beike.  They were all so nice and hospitably to us.  It was definitely an experience that I will always treasure and I know Bradley will also.  We feel we have made friends for life and we wish we could take them all home with us!

Yesterday we went with Macie and Shel to a park.  We rode a sky lift and took in some beautiful views of Qingdao.  It too us up into a mountain where we looked down on the city and the ocean.  I was a little scared because there was not much holding you in the seat.  It was fun though, even if it started to pour down raining while we were on it.

We have heard some exciting reports from kids who were here but have returned home already.  The first is a sweet boy named Garrett he is eight.  His mom e-mailed Marcie’s mom and told her he can now see the big E on the eye chart and he has never been able to before.  His eye doctor has confirmed that his vision is improving.  His website is www.garrettsfightforsight.com .  Another success story is that of Glen’s.  He was the little boy who had the awful reaction to the first spinal treatment and went home early.  He was able to get one IV injection and one spinal injection but just from that his mom says that his vision is improving.  She says he is sitting on the couch watching t.v. an he could never see it from there before!  Bradley really misses playing with transformers with Glen.

Just as I am feeling comfortable in China and relaxing a little…it has come time to leave.  This truly is an experience of a lifetime and the friends we have made from all over the world will be cherished forever.  I hope to stay in touch with them all.  I took some pictures of the interpreters because a lot of them will be off of work for the weekend. There is also a picture of Kirshner, one of the head honchos.

Tomorrow will be our last full day in China and we are hoping to get some more sight seeing in.  I cannot wait to get home and see everyone especially Todd, Caleb, and Olivia!

Love, Amy
