Good Evening!

April 19th, 2008

Hello Again!  I guess I should clarify my blog yesterday.  The doctor does think that the stem cells will help everything- he just won’t get the results that he would have 5 years ago.  We knew that already, but it just hurts a little to hear it again, especially when we have been told from all of our neuro’s from day one that stem cells were not an option!  We can only pray for the best results we can get at this time.  ANY improvement, no matter how small, will make this trip 100% worth it!

On a lighter note, we had a pretty fun day today!  Brayden was so sore this morning from PT that he couldn’t even move!  We told the therapist that he needed the day off!  Poor kid- I know he is probably thinking he is getting tortured!  Jason had to make a run to the store this morning, so the kids and I did laundry.  Not too eventful until a nurse and I scared the pee out of each other!  They have a really soft nature, so when they knock, it is very hard to hear them.  I was putting away some laundry, and turned around and there she was!  It was instant reaction for me to scream a little, and I think I really scared her bc she screamed too!  She kept saying- So sorry, so sorry!  Glad she didn’t walk in to me be being naked or something!  Jason and I decided to brave the local scene, and take the kids for a picnic in the park.  It is really beautiful.  Lots of fountains, flowers, and little boys doing their business just about anywhere!  Yep, they will just whip it out wherever they feel like it!  It really made us feel at home!!!  Heck, the little kids here have slits in the bootie part of their pants so they can just squat when they have to go.  Tracie, I think I will bring some home for Kory!  When we returned, Brayden had accupuncture.  I think he is starting to really like it!  He was awesome!  When we got back to our room, the cleaning lady was there.  She has made friends with Brylie.  Brylie has taught her some English, and she taught Brylie how to say good-bye in Chinese (shay-she-in).  Very cute!  The lady calls the kids Barden and Barley.  We got adventurous tonight and ordered chicken strips from what they call a bbq place.  From what we heard, their bbq consists of something that gives you the poops!  Luckily no one has had trouble with the plain strips, so we’ll see!

We hope to go to the ocean tomorrow, so probably no blog until Tuesday, since Brayden has his next injection on Monday.  Thank you all again for the comments!  We are suprised daily by the outpouring of support!  I didn’t even know so many people knew that we were coming!!  It is such an amazing feeling to know that you all are pulling for us!  Hope you all have a great weekend!

Great news!!!!! When I told the kids that I was sending you a package and ask if anyone would like to send something, Craig emailed me back

I’ll run over to Pittsuburg to Lotus and pick up some Chinese food to send.
LOL You know Craig, alway the cut up.
Poor Brayden, maybe I should put Icy Hot in the package…
Brylie can teach all the other kids to speak Chinese when you get home, they’ll get a kick out of that.
I wonder if you would get a chance to see the ocean. I bet it is beautiful. Enjoy youselves and relax for a while.
Our Love and Prayers are with you.

Lorie, it is 10:00 on Sat. and we just went and picked up your car. Ryan thinks it is pretty cool. You did not have to have it so clean. I think it might have taught him responsibililty to have to do something. The promonade is at 6:00. We are reading your blogs everyday and we say prayers for you guys on the way to school every morning. I will take pictures of your hummer and ryan to show you when you get back. Love you lots, The martin girls.

Great to know things are going so well. Also that you are finding others to talk a little English with. That has to help a little bit. Thinking/praying for you all…have a good weekend… love, hugs and kisses for all of you, Nonnie

Good to hear a little clarification. Mom and Dad are going home tomorrow, Sunday. We have enjoyed having them here with us. Nolan turned 14 last Thursday. Can you believe it? He is about to be done with the 8th grade and will be in high school in the fall. Wow, how time flies. Another reason God has sent you to China. Better now than later and no more what ifs. He is guiding you down the right path and you just keep looking forward. We all love you and are praying daily.
    Love,
    LIsa and family

Hey Johnson’s, I’d been having trouble finding this blog site, but stopped by Tracie and Kory’s yesterday and they filled me in on how things were going. What a great way for you to keep everyone posted on Brayden’s progress, and for us to send you our support. You will continue to be in my prayers, and I can’t wait to read about more updates.

This is more of a message to those of you who are reading Brayden’s blog daily! I would like thank each of you for the support and prayers each of you continues to send to Brayden and the Johnson family. There is not one day, or one trip to the grocery store that either myself, Karrie, or mom aren’t stopped and asked how Brayden is doing. Lorie is in awe everyday when she gets online and sees more comments and more prayers from each of you. She told me tonight as we talked online that she hates that she can’t reply to each of your comments. Unfortunately the blog just lets her see your wonderful comments and post one bulk blog. I think we all agree that Lorie and Jason are amazing parents, and with your continuous support and encouragement, it makes them feel even more confident that they have made a wondeful choice in providing Brayden with this journey. Thank you all again.
