It’s the final count down!

Brayden is officially done being poked!!  Such a brave and amazingly tough little guy!  We are so very proud of him!  He had his last IV treatment today.  Everything went great!  The nurses are absolutely amazing at starting IV’s!  One quick poke and they are in- every time!   Brayden doesn’t even flinch.

Brayden got another massage today.  We are so thankful that Cindy from NJ shared this wonderful man with us.  We cannot even tell you how amazing Dr. Di is.  This man is so calm and patient.   He can calm Brayden and make him do just about anything by simply touching or tapping in a certain place.  He has the most amazing patience with Brayden.  Today he invited Jason and I to learn how to do certain techniques on Brayden so we can continue when we go home.  I think Brayden really enjoys getting the massages.  At times it looks as if he has melted into the bed.  It is very funny though because at other times, Dr. Di rubs Brayden’s legs where he is extremely ticklish, so Brayden screams and laughs.  So funny to watch Dr. Di chase him around the bed.  He is another person I so wish I could fit into our luggage and smuggle into the U.S.!!

Today we had to say goodbye to Jason, Brayden’s accupuncture guy.  It was kind of sad really.  We knew yesterday that he was leaving tonight to go see his family, so we gave him the gifts that we brought for him yesterday afternoon.  We really didn’t expect to see him today, but before he headed out, he came in our room and asked us to take pictures of him with the kids.  I guess that was our first real bit of proof that our journey is coming to an end.  I knew we would be a little sad about leaving, but I think it might be harder than we thought.  Everyone is so kind, and we have all become like family.  We have made really good friends with Giovanni and Elvia- the Aust-Italians and Cindy and Ching- the Chinese speaking couple from NJ.  Cindy has truly been my angel over here.  She is the kindest person and one of the most devoted wives you will ever meet.  She speaks fluent English and Chinese, so she has been our Godsend.  When things were really tough, she jumped right in to help us out.  She has also shared a lot of non-traditional techniques with us to try for Brayden.  Such an amazing person.  We will certainly miss her and Ching.

The weather here today was beautiful and warm.  The sky was so clear, and we had a great view of the mountains today.    Not much fun being couped up inside, but we are planning to go to the underground market tomorrow with Giovanni and Elvia.  I hope the weather holds out for us.  We are supposed to get rain everyday until and including the day we leave.  That may make for a very long 4 days.

Shayla and Kelci, best of luck at your ball games this weekend.  I hope you have nice weather!  Can’t wait to see all of you very, very soon!!  Our love from China!
