Brooklyn had her first day of therapy today. She had therapy for 1 1/2 hours which is much longer then what she is used to at home. She was very tired afterward. This afternoon we went shopping and she is becoming the princess of china. Everywhere we go people stop and stare at her and come up and want to touch her. She must be getting used to the attention as she is now starting to wave to people as we puch her in her stroller. She is scheduled for her first injection tomorrow. The procedure will take about 40 minutes after they get the line in. She will then need to lie still for 6 hours – yeah that should be fun. I am hoping they do it closer to early afternoon – they give us a two hour window. We met a couple from Toronto and they have their 12 month old son here – he has his first therapy yesterday and was up all night. I am hoping that we don’t have to go through that. Lauren and I are hoping to go to Lingyin temple on saturday (with brooke) and then to downtown hangzhou on sunday with some other patients.
I think that after this trip I will be able to travel anywhere. Things are very diffferent here and the language barrier is hard to deal with. I wish I would have been able to pick up more chinese before I left, but I am trying to learn as i go along. We are all doing well and I need to get to bed……

We arrived at the hospital last night and we had a good night. The staff here is very nice and they will be getting us a treatment schedule soon. She might have her first treatment this weekend – we are still waiting to see. I will send out more information when I have the time – Brooke is getting antsy.

We are leaving for the hospital today. The trip to Beijing was fun but busy. We managed to see the Great Wall, took a tour of Hu Tong, The forbidden city, the summer palace, the famed “dirt” market, the silk factory, and the cloisenne factory and got to see some of the buildings for the 2008 Olympics. Brooklyn has finally gotten adjusted to the time change and I am hoping that she will keep sleeping well at the hospital. We have been having fun shopping here in Shanghai – Lauren has had to buy two additional bags to take all of her finds home in but she says she is done Christmas shopping – aren’t you envious?
Need to finish getting ready for the hospital – the fun has come to an end and we are heading off on our next journey. Hope everyone is well!!!

It is thursday morning and I think Brooke is getting adjusted to the time change. She feel asleep at 7:30 and was up at 6:00 – not too bad. Lauren and I are off to Beijing tomorrow to do some site seeing and Brooke is staying with the Wilson’s. Her cousin’s are so excited to have her here – she has already been to school with them twice. We are off for another day of shopping – need to have some fun before all of the “serious” stuff starts!!! Love to all – Heather

Well, it is getting close to our departure time. I am getting nervous about getting everything done before we leave. Tomorrow will be our packing day and I hope I have everything I need. We will be leaving On Monday, May 7th and arrive in Shanghai late on the 8th. We will be staying with Scott’s sister and her family until Brooklyn is due at the hospital on May 15th. Scott and Sydney will join us when they leave on May 26th and will return on June 9th. Brooklyn and I will be returning on June 17th. I hope Brooklyn does well on the flight and we don’t have too many problems. Thanks to everyone for their support and encouraging words. We will keep you posted once we get to china.
