First Night By Myself

June 1st, 2007

The parenting duty has now switched at the hspital. Heather made it back to Shanghai and I made it through the first night and Brooke slept through the night. She was up around 6:15 but she took 2 naps yesterday for almost 1.5 hours each. I understand this is pretty typical the day after her treatment. We did our morning laps and said hello to everyone that was up and moving. She is now getting a little restless while I compose my first blog entry. She has the patience of her mother.

I can see that after a day here, Heather’s trip back to Shanghai is well deserved. OK, gotta go before she jumps out of the stroller.

So……how excited was Brooklyn to see her Daddy? Scott, I’m sure she was a breath of fresh air, huh? I bet Heather has falled in love all over again with Miss Sydney! We are so happy that things are going well. We really look forward to seeing you guys in the summer! Give Brooklyn big hugs and kisses from us!

Brad got your birthday message, will be trying to call you back. We were all going for a birthday swim, no, not in our birthday suits, but for Brad’s birthday! It’s like 100 here now in Phoenix, so we are LOVING the pool!!!

Hugs and kisses to you all!

    Love,
Brad, Darla, Holly, Baby & Yogi

Good job keeping the blog going. I know you didn’t want to hear from Heather about not holding up your end. I bet Brooke was glad to see her daddy too. I can’t imagine what the Syd & Mom reubion was like. You’re right – Heather really deserved a break from both the hospital & Brooke. It seems like forever since we’ve seen Brooke. Have you noticed anything different with Brooke ?
Keep blogging – we’ll be in touch.

Hi Scott, just finished reading all the info on Brooklyn. Sounds like things are going great. By the sounds of it, I think you will have to get another job. If you spent that much in one day, think what kind of damage Heather can do in a week. I know, cuz I was there for 17 days. I think I bought everything in sight. Had a wonderful time with Michelle and kids. You and Heather are blessed to have such a great sister. I know she will do everything in her power to make things go easy for all of you.
    I will write again!
    Love

I am enjoying my break in Shanghai. Brooklyn just likes to be doing things – it is not a patience issue!!!!! Syd was happy to see me and we spent Friday shopping. She didn’t enjoy that too much – I think she would rather be outside playiing with her cousins. Thanks again to everyone for the encouragement and prayers.

Hi Scott, it is Sunday and has been raining all day long. Your not missing any weather here. I am sure it is really hot in China. Having Debbie, Steve, Connor, Mackenzie and friend over for chop suey. Home made of course. Just to let everyone know who reads the blog (or whatever) that Bobby and Barb are having a baby BOY. Name will be Joseph Kruse (after my Nanny) Lantzy. She is due on MY birthday November 3rd or there abouts. We found out on June 1st. I was in Phoenix for 2 weeks making a quilt, drapes and dog wall hanging for the baby room. I really didn’t want to know what they were having. But, now that I know, I can really spoil the heck out of it. We are all excited. Oh, that is for Mackenzie. When Barb told her it was a boy, she went silent for about 15 seconds which would be a record for her. She kind of takes after me. Well, gotta go for today. Keep up your spirits and the blog.
Love and prayers for all of you,
    Auntie Joannie & Uncle Bob
