Writing your own story

Hello, it’s been awhile. I’ve been home , from my stem cell treatment in China , for about 3 1/2 years. I’m still doing great…realistically, if I’d never gone for the treatment, if I’d taken to heart all the “facts” that the doctors told me at home, I wouldn’t be writing this now, I wouldn’t be walking, talking, eating or drinking easily, reading books , watching T.V., spending time with family & friends ie. I wouldn’t be living much of a life OR I’d be “living” one that was severly compromised…needlessly.

My stem cell treatment was the beginning of process of rehabilitation that is ongoing. In 2004 I was given the diagnosis of “sporadic spinocerebellar ataxia”with a prognosis of deteriorating abilities over the next few years. These abilities are ones that most of take for granted: walking, standing, climbing up & down stairs, talking , seeing well, writing, the list goes on. My neurologist put it “how you are nows is a good as  will ever get” Another neurologist at a rehab centre said” yours is a degenerative condition and we can’t do much  to help you”,  my G.P. told me to “go home and don’t worry about it”. Yet another neurologist said “you’re doing o.k. now but everything will deteriorate and in a few  years, well….” You get the idea, sound familiar to anyone?

My stem cell treatment with Beike Biotech was HUGELY beneficial ( that’s another story). Not only did I regain many lost abilities , physical AND mental health, but those abilities remain and I have been further invesigating my  diagnosis…myself and with the help of health professionals  in the areas of alternative & complimentary medicine . None of what I was told by my doctors has come to pass. Many of us have medical conditions that can ONLY be treated by “looking outside the box”, by seeking out & using other therapies-Traditional Chinese Medicine, accupuncture, chiropractors, massage therapy, naturopaths….Allopathic ,”western” medicine may simply not have all the answers for you. You may be told ” there is nothing that can be done for you, don’t waste your money, nothing else will help you”-that’s simply not true-don’t believe it, or take it at face value – I’m proving that! Often those words are spoken by individuals with another agenda or  by those obliged to work within a certain “system”. Don’t let anyone else write your  story, write your own story. Listen to every opinion, but also educate yourself, get other facts and opinions, it’s your life and your choices.
