Boring Wednesday

February 27th, 2008

Hello,

Well today was just another day.  I told Devin we are starting to feel like the movie Ground Hog Day.  Devin, did a really good job in therapy today because I told his therapist he does not like the noise so we went to another room where it was just us and he worked really hard.  Then from therapy he stood in the stander for 30 minutes and then he was tired.  He has been really tired lately and the doctors say you either get a lot of energy with the stem cells or you are really tired so he took another nap at lunch time.  He then had his electrical wave therapy and then we took another walk outside.  Very nice day today the sun was out and it was in the 50′s.  (Sorry had to rub it in)

Some people are always wondering what time it is for us and I guess I never told you that we are 14 hours ahead of you.  So, as we are writing this blog at 4:30 in the afternoon on Wednesday you are all sleeping as it is 2:30 in the morning on Wednesday.

Devin and I did order Chinese food today.  We had a three vegetable (carrots, peas & broccoli) dish with white rice and actually it was really good.  They gave us so much food that it is more than enough for 2 meals and it cost $11.00 RMB that means it cost me $1.70 of US money.  Can you believe that!!!! Also, another thing you won’t believe it that they don’t know what fortune cookies or crab meat rangoon’s are!!!!  So, when I promised some of you that I would bring you home a fortune cookie I lied.  I guess I should have brought them with me to give our here.

The only funny story I have today and you have to picture it.  Every time we go for a walk we also find humor in the what we see.  Today there was a man on his bike with a little wire basket on his handle bars and inside the basket was this little baby sitting in it with her mom running beside the bike.  It’s just one of those things that you would just have to see to image and I tried to get a picture but by the time I got the camera they were to far away (maybe next time).

Also, will one of you that is reading this blog please let Mrs. Casey know that we are thinking about her and hope she is doing well.  Devin also told me that he really misses all of his friends at school and he says “HI” to everyone and he can’t wait to get back to school.  Also, when I mentioned school he kept repeating Turkey so yes Chris I guess he misses you too and then when I mentioned Pam he let out a big YEAH!!!

That’s it for the day have a great Wednesday as ours is just about over and we only have 18 days to go:)

    Hi Kim and Devin,

It’s hard to imagine what 50 degrees feels like anymore. We had another late start yesterday because of the weather. The roads are pretty bad and the towns have run out of salt. That’s life in the Midwest!
Baby in a bike basket? Somehow that doesn’t sound too safe, especially if I were steering the bike.
Chris won’t be in school today Devin. He is getting some training for our classroom. But yesterday, he was reading a story to Travis and Allen that had the work turkey in it. Guess who we thought of?
Mrs. Casey is home and doing pretty well. We promise to let her know that you say hi.
Devin, you are such a trooper. Everyone must be so impressed with how hard you try. You just never give up.
I don’t think the snow will be gone in 18 days. Sorry.
Stay well, and God bless. We’ll keep praying for you.

    Hi Kim and Devin,

Today is yet another cold day with lots of snow. At least today we have the sun shining so that helps. I would love to have 50 degree weather right now. I don’t blame you Devin about trying to do therapy with all the other noises. I would much rather do it in peace and quiet also. Keep up the great work Devin, we are so proud of you. Every time I call for Shea Shea I think of both of you. We pray for you every night and we love you.

    Hey Devin,
It’s another Wednesday night and I’m here alone!! It sounds like even through all your hard work you and your Mom are having fun. Devin you are so blessed to have such a determined, compassionate Mom! Kim, I have never met any like you! My class is praying for you every day, we have your picture on the calender wall, when I say your name Brandon is all smiles.
Keep up the hard work Buddy!

    Hi Kim and Devin,
It sounds like they are keeping you pretty busy over there! We are so proud of you, Devin! You are such a hard worker! Your dad and Jenna came over for supper tonight and Gary tried to scare Jenna with a toy snake but she just laughed at him! She wasn’t afraid of a silly old wooden snake! Take care and best of luck with all of your treatments.
    Love,
    Julie and Gary

    Kim and Devin,
Glad to hear everything is going great! Thinking of you both daily, as the kids at Sue’s remind me “Kim and Devin are in CHINA!”. I think Sue is greatful that the youngsters at her house have diapers! I can imagine what one little 3 year old would say if Sue watched a couple of little boys without a diaper on!! Also, since Devins suitcase is going to be empty on the way home 70cents is pretty cheap for a 24 oz bud! You could bring up to 50lbs. back. Take Care, and keep us up to date.

I am glad your weather is nice. The Chinese food sounds good – isn’t it funny about the fortune cookies. I look forward to reading about how your day goes – you are always close in our thoughts and prayers. Keep up the awesome work. You are such an inspiration to your family and friends.

    Love, Jodie
