Well the last Lumpar puncture is finished and Doug is doing well. He only has 2 hours left to keep his head down. He did physical therapy, occupational therapy and standing therapy this morning and was taken to the stem cell treatment room at 2:oopm. He was back in the room at 2:30pm. So we will see what tomorrow will bring.
We have been watching the farmers in their gardens below us since the day we arrived. Just on Sunday morning Doug and I ventured down the lane to get a closer picture and this morning they are flooded. It is so sad as I am sure their crops are finished for the season. I will attach pictures.
I hope there is no rain tomorrow so that we can get out a bit. The days get pretty long when you can’t get out especially on treatment day there is no one in the halls as all the caregivers are staying close to their loved ones to encourage them to keep their heads down. Can’t imagine doing that with a child (maybe you have to sit on them !!!!)
Until tomorrow, love to all …Dar and Doug

Hi again Doug and Dar!
Not too much time left hey!!!! Will be glad when you are both back in Estevan safe and sound. The month has gone by quickly for us. Hopefully it hasn’t been too bad for you two. I’m sure you will have lots of stories to tell when you get home and I will be looking forward to hearing about them.
You are a real trooper Doug. Everyone is so proud of you. You are determined and it will pay off.
It is raining here today and very cold. Wearing socks and shoes today. Thought I had those shoes put away for the summer, but I guess not. It’s the kind of day where I would just love to curl up on the couch and read a good book or watch a good movie but instead I’m at work…..oh well.
Just wanted to say hi and wish you both the best. Those pictures are awesome Dar…..til tomorrow, take care and talk to you soon.

Hello Doug & Darlene…
Doug, I have been silently following your story & wanted to finally email you to let you know that I have been thinking of you & know that there are probably many more people that you wouldn’t even have thought were.
I was thrilled a while back when I asked a mutual friend if they knew how you were doing & they told me about this treatment that you were going to try.
Attitude is everything & you definitely have a great one…
I wish you only the best & just wanted you to know that an old friend had you in her thoughts & prayers…
Darlene your updates are inspiring & the pictures are great. Doug is a lucky guy…
Take care & have a safe trip back to Canada…
Your friend,
Shelley

Hi
Wow that is a sad picture! It has rained steady all day today and suppose to tomorrow – not sure if the farmers will be happy or mad?? The only good thing is maybe it will fill up the dam – better boating haha!
Jim is up in Calgary at the World Oil Show -sounds boring to me, but he enjoys that stuff. Nikki went to Victoria for a week – by herself (makes me very nervous). And the rest of us had to WORK!!
Keep working hard Doug and we will see you guys soon!
Crystal

Hi Doug and Darleen… the rain picture looks like Calgary. Today is finally sunny and hopefully will be dry enough to cut the swath of grass that has grown – at least it is green. Mom says it is raining quite a bit in Regina and Estevan is getting it good as well. It is good to hear things are going well with you and that must have been some session with all those doctors. Almost like your own science experiment.
There was a controversial news story on Global TV about China and their stem cell work – debating whether or not it actually works. I believe you could prove them wrong. You look good Doug.
Brett is getting anxious to get on his trip to Estevan. I know he is very excited to see you both.
Thank you Darleen for such great updates. Have a safe journey home. Jody
