Goodbye Mum

Mum flys home tomorrow and she will be missed, she’s been a great help.  Grace started her therapy today with 1.5hrs of physio and 40mins of electrical wave therapy and is due to have her first injection by IV on friday.

The Physio was good and Grace co-operated and many of the exercises we’re similar to Stick n Step.  The electrical wave therapy is like one of those slendertone machines that shock and contract you’re muscles and is meant to loosen her muscles.  She looked quite funny sitting there with her arms and legs twitching, she fell asleep halfway through so it can’t of been uncomfortable.

We went for a walk round the block today and it was nice to see some of the area.  It’s nothing like i expected it to be and is a strange mix of arable land right nxt to a high rise office block, and a five star hotel with locals washing their veg in the river next to it.  I cannot compliment the Chinese enough though, everywhere is clean, they’re all polite and will do anything to please.  So far the trip has been amazing, from Manchester to Amsterdam, Hong Kong and then Hangzhou.  The language barrier has been overcome at every step and i have to admit not on my part, it was probably harder to be understood in Manchester than anywhere else on the trip!

    Hi Leanne and Grace

I’m glad youy journey was ok.I’m happy the treatment seems very comfortable for Grace. My cousin lives in Shanghai with her husband, Tara and Alan. They have 2 young sons but they are there for another 5 years. They have decided to adopt a chinese girl and have started the rolling for that.
I didnt think the locals would stare, that is quite daunting!
You havent missed too much at college. We have been working on the workpack where we have to get a treatment and write about it, get a list of 5 holisitc therapy places and we’ve done a questionnaire of no more than 10 questions, then ask 3 people to complete it and give that in with the workpack.

    Anyway,take care both of you.

Looking forward to the next updates

P.S. do they celebrate easter over there? Can you get an easter egg for Grace?

    Happy Easter !

The photos on facebook are great. It isn’t at all like I had pictured it would be. It is less densely packed in. It is nice that there are some open air areas where you can go for a walk.

Vicky was great to go out with you. I hope her return journey goes well.

Looking forward to reading further updates.

It sounds funny Grace relaxing so much she fell alseep during the treatment. It must be very relaxing for her and probably also she was tired out from her previous threapy.

    All the best

Hello to everyone who has posted comments on this blog and a big hello especially to my two beautiful girls all the way over in China!

The journey back was not quite as smooth as the journey to China but all in all it was good and fairly uneventful, thank goodness for Mr Zhin (the taxi driver) who helped me check-in at Hangzhou for the first leg of the journey. We were a little early so no signs were illuminated at the check-in desks so therefore no english translations. After trying about four different check-in desks Mr Zhin finally found us the right one. Leanne, I will send you an e-mail with a couple of hints and tips for the journey home.

To reply to Gary and Matts questions we found a good american takeaway called KFC!!! (ha, ha) not sure about Sky sports but there are a few MUFC shirts walking around on chinese bodies (there’s a surprise!).

Well, Leanne take good care of yourself and Grace and we are all thinking of you, I miss you both already. Please give Grace a big cuddle from me.

    Speak soon

    love as always, Mum XXXXX
