Hi, Sorry i didn’t update everything yesterday but Grace has decided sleeping in Mummy’s bed isn’t enough and that she has to sleep on-top of me, which has limited my time a little bit!
Anyway, the first IV went really well with Grace sitting there quite happily for half an hour. They don’t mess about with numbing the hand first here so she didn’t get upset with them pulling at her and the nurses are so good she didn’t even cry when the needle went in. The stemcells look like weak tea and not what i expected at all, in my uneducated mind i imagined they would look like frogspawn (how they’d get that in your veins i don’t know). After the stemcell injections it’s quite likely they get a fever, which Grace didn’t! My little girl dropped her temp instead, and anybody who knows her will know this is unusual. Other than that there was really no change.
The rational side of my brain knew not to expect any differences in Grace so soon, The irrational maternal side of my brain expected miracles! I’m really happy with the way things have gone this week, my only regret is not fitting Rose and Michael in my suitcase.
I’ve a few questions to answer:-
No1. No Jenny there’s no eggs but mum packed us some treats for Easter.
No2. Gary there’s no Sky Sports but there was American basketball with Chinese commentary.
No3. Gary again! There’s no ‘English Chippy’ like you find on he Costa Del Sol but there is KFC, Pizza Hut and Subway. They do an alright Chinese Takeaway too!
Thankyou all for your comments, it’s good to be in contact with the outside world. Keep them coming.
Oh my God Leanne, you made me laugh so much with the Stem cells looking like frogspawn comment! Thats so funny. Poor Grace she would be all bloated and bubbly trying to get them in!
It is good to hear Grace is making herself comfortable by sleeping on you! It’s probably like an expensive spa treatment, being boiled while you sleep and having her knees massage your bladder for you!!! I hope you get enough sleep to keep your energy up.
I hope you have been enjoying the food. It is good that there are some familiar foods there as well so you don’t have to be adventerous when you just want some comfort food! Have you had anything weird and wonderful? We bought some basil drink from the chinese supermarket in Dublin it was awful. It looked like frogspawn in a can and no one liked the taste (of the people who were brave enough to try it).
Stay positive and it’ll all work out.
Lots of love
Orla

Hiya, Gary says thanks for answering the questions, its really put his mind at ease! So glad to hear you are getting on well and you are comfortable.
Just got back from your house tonight. Had fantastic fun with Rose. She had us in knots laughing all weekend. She puts the smiley dummy in her mouth and then takes it out and laughs at it!! Sinead was peeling potatoes and she decided she wanted to eat one raw so i let her have a bite and she actually loved it! I had to swap it for an apple when she wasnt looking!!! She then brought us a little present from the kitchen (a poo nappy that i had put in the bin earlier!) I am talking about Rose, not Sinead by the way!!!!
We bought her a new dinner plate with chickens on it and i think she says chicken now when her dinner is nearly all gone and you can see the chicken on the plate again.
She gave the photo of you and daddy on your wedding day a big kiss today. It snowed there today, we were going to go out and try to make a snowman but it melted really fast.
Both of your daughters have taken to sleeping on top of someone, Rose feel asleep on me today while we were watching Sponge- bob. She is just too cute. I am going to go up again the weekend after next. Only been home an hour and I miss her already.
Thanks for the update and lots of love,
Siobhan & Gary. X x X x X x X x X x X
