Hello, another quiet day here today physio and o.t went fine although Grace is not responding as well as she does at home. She doesn’t understand what they want her to do so just gives up, i could do with Kristi here to give her a poke in the ribs and threaten her. She seems to enjoy the massage though and is getting quite vocal when they attack her with the lolly sticks. The head of rehab is great and is very interested in western bodywork along with traditional chinese, she has just been to our room armed with a memory stick and loaded my computer with loads of info on positioning and feeding and also said she is going to try and get some medicine for Grace’s wart which is great because i’ve tried to get rid of it for the past 6mths and failed.
Grace coped with acupuncture well today and only cried at the last one which goes under her chin. I don’t think she likes her doctor anymore though as she always gives her very suspicious looks and gives her no response to the doctors attempts to make her smile. Although thats not totally unusual over here this time, i think she must be alot more aware that she is away from home here as there are none of Grace’s usual smiles and kicking when anybody comes in, she’s very subdued and aloof. Or maybe it’s just all the time she is spending with mummy rubbing off.
The internet here is very slow today and it meant my skype would only give me every third word of the conversation and even just catching up with the news is painfully slow.
A note on the blog- some posts have to be approved by me so will not show on the site automatically and i think there is also a delay on some posts with the chinese censorship. My american neighbours have told me how to put photo’s on here but it means compressing them in a computer file first and then uploading them. I haven’t got the time or patience so it will have to wait till i go home.
Sian- if we followed every food scare they put in the media we’d be very, very thin. I’d quite happily keep pigs in the garden but i think you’d name them and then we’d be stuck with very big, smelly pets with a big appetite. No photo’s till i get home. Enjoy your holiday.
Friday is Grace’s second spinal and tomorrow is more routine so i probably wont post again till friday.
I’m trialing pizza from OK pizza tonight so i’ll go and await my delivery (pizza, chiken wings, salad & drink £4.60 incl delivery) let you know how it was on friday.
Take care
Leanne & Grace
From all your knowledge you shouldve been a doctor! Sounds Grace is getting everything she needs, as you say she is probably more aware this time and maybe missing home a little. Im sure she gets used to her normal doctors and therapists, Im sure she will be fine.
Dinner sounds lovely!
Maybe thats where Im going wrong, not eat anything that has been in the news and I will be thin thin thin!!!
Probably wont get chance to put a comment on after friday hun as they dont have signals in porthmadog!
Will keep in touch still over next couple of days.
Thinking about you two all the time and miss you xxx
Hello loves
18.46pm
Poor Grace, she is probably a bit fed-up as well as being aware she isn’t at home and everything is different, it’s a lot for her to put with, being prodded etc by a load of strangers, not to mention the needles!! But I’m sure that she is coping in her usual style and still has that lovely smile for Mummy.
Spoke to your Nan last night and she asked me to give you both her love and sends kisses for Grace. Ged is reading the blog everyday although he doesn’t leave a message everytime, he’d rather phone than send an e-mail even. Nothing out of the ordinary going on here that I know of, just the usual routine for us all.
I hope your pizza is a success and I’m sure that Grace will help with the pizza. Will try Skype again in the morning and hopefully it will be better.
In the meantime lots of love to you both and bigger than ever huggles and kisses for Grace.
Mum and Ged xx
Hi Leanne and Grace everything sounds like its going well. Grace sound like shes taking it all in her stride as usual, shes so laid back and such a little star!. I wonder if being attacked by the lolly sticks reminds her of tac pac with the spatulas at school, sounds like the same sort of reaction, fits of giggles! Leanne you are doing a fab job again, it can’t be easy watching all this poking and proding, needles etc to your little girl. Im glad the Tinkle star helps!. Well I hope your pizza is successfull. Give Grace a big hug and tell her Cerys says shes a minx. Hopefully she will have a little chuckle about it.
Anyway take care and I will write again soon
Love from Cerys xxx
