Sorry for the delay in the post but i haven’t had much to say or the energy to make anything up. Grace is fine and sailed through her 2nd spinal. She had this one in the morning so i didn’t keep her hungry for too long this time. I was with her for the anaesthetic and have come to the conclusion Chinese doctors don’t understand dirty looks as one of them got a lot! next week i will just chuck him out. He didn’t do anything particularly bad but you would think when they are waiting for somebody to go under (she was fighting it a lot) he’d be quiet, he wasn’t. Anyway she was eventuually asleep and i left them to it. All went well and afterwards i have 6 hrs of monitoring her I.V. pulse and O2 levels which as normal is a boring job as they all stay the same. They reduced the amount of anaesthetic this time and she has been much better although not quite herself.
The cleaners came in with the vacuum cleaner on Thursday (we’ve only been here 2 weeks) and it was like they’ve never used one. I am not the best cleaner in the world and quite often have to ask Michael where we keep Henry but this was laughable, i’m hoping to sneak into the cupboard tomorrow afternoon and do it myself. The cleaners are very pleasant but i am unsure of what they are here for.
My Irish neighbours are going out sightseeing tomorrow and have kindly said myself and Grace can come with them so it will be nice to get out and hopefully find some souvenirs. I have booked a night in Beijing on the way home within walking distance of Tian’anmen square and in the middle of snack street that has a night market so it should be a nice break on the way home.
This second trip is dragging alot and i am ready to come home now. I think Rose is struggling too as her first words to Michael in the mornings are that she doesn’t want to go to school. Michael is setting skype up at home as i type so hopefully when she can speak to me every morning it will make it a bit easier on her and Michael.
Grace is moaning so i best go.
Ahhh!! things don’t sound too good!! try a lot of tutting and throwing your eyes up to heaven next time and if he still doesn’t be quiet then just loudly shush him!!!!
I must be as good as you in the vacuuming stakes but there is nothing worse then a half assed attempt!!!!
Poor Rose is prob just out of her routine too but I’m sure it will help talking to you in the mornings!!
I’m loving the sound of snack street!!! I could do with one of those close by!!!!
I hope things start to get better before ye head home and enjoy your sightseeing tomorrow

Todays word is `antebellum`
I am not sure these are even real words now…will check the dictionary when i am finished, or maybe I should have checked first and then I woudnt look like a thicko to everyone reading this…. oh feck it, who cares????
I really really hope the time goes a bit speedier for ye. You are half way through now so just keep positive and t will fly by.
You must really miss Rose but just think about all the cuddles you will get when you get back. She will be SO excited to see you both.
We had to go back to Edinburgh on Thursday because Garys job on Tuesday had been cancelled when we got there. Well it all went well and we drove back home yesterday Now, we have the new car and its all fancy with gadgets and buttons and loads of information on a screen on the dash, but what do you think I did?? Well I decided I could beat it! The screen said we had 11 miles worth of diesel left and the tomtom told us we had 25 miles to get home…. Ooops! I convinced a very very tired Gary to not bother stopping for diesel because it couldnt possibly be that accurate…. Well surprse surprise it bl00dy well is accurate and we ran out of diesel 6 miles from home. If you want any advice on giving dirty looks just ask Gary. I got LOADS while we wated nearly 2 hours for the AA to turn up. We had already been driving for 6 hours straight and Gary had done a days work… It was not a fun journey for the last 6 miles home.
It will be nice to get out with the other family and do some sightseeing. I hope ye enjoy it. Looking forward to seeing the photos when ye get back.
Chat again soon,

I think Siobhan is right about these words, I fail to see how the word ‘evanescent’ means anything, & thank you Siobhan for the advice on the tomtom etc.
It sounds like time is going slowly for you but only 2 weeks to go now and then you will be home with Rose and Michael. She really doesn’t want to go to nursery in the mornings but once there, she’s fine. The other week she was complaining about going before we were even out of bed!
Glad Grace’s spinal went well, and having it in the morning has got to be easier for her, she loves her breakfast and it must be awful for her doing without it.
We’ve had a lazy morning and are now going to Andorra and staying overnight, most people would head for the coast and the beach but not us, we’re going up into the mountains for duty free shopping. Will stay there tonight and come back to Toulouse tomorrow, so it will beTapas for tea tonight.
Enjoy your sightseeing and hope you find some bargains, give Grace a big hug and kiss from us xx
Missing you both very much.

Hi, Antebellum means before the war and is more of an american saying. Evanescant means vanishing or fleeting. You’re obviously not as linguistic as me! or you haven’t got the time i have to put it in Google. I actually just came on to clarify ‘Henry’ is the vacuum cleaner not the hired help! Anyway hope you are all enjoying your weekends.

Glad we’ve cleared that one up then, they are real words after all. Back in Toulouse now and Ged has gone to put his washing on so I thought I’d check in with you. Then probably sit in the sun for a while as my flight back isn’t till 9.40pm.
Hope you enjoyed your sightseeing trip and that you are both well.
Will attempt a Skype phonecall again when I get home.
love as always
