Just 3 more Sleeps

Jay had his 6th and last stem cell injection today. Everything seems to have went well with it. He is having the injection done higher on his back and it seems to work better for him.  When it was done on the lower part of his back, his back was stiff and sore. Now that its been done higher he has no back pain at all.  Jay can now jump 2 to 3 feet where he could not do that before stem cell.  His balance is also much better. When he speaks his voice is much louder and clearer.
(Don’t like it in the night though, when he thinks he should sing in his sleep.)   He says that all around he feels really good. It’s been an experience of a life time spending just about 4 weeks with Jay in the same room. We don’t even live in the same house. But it was an experience that I am glad that we spent together. There is alot of wonderful things happening here at the clinic in Hangzhou.  You could not ask for a better place for treatment. The staff here are worth their weight in gold, and we all know that chinese weigh alot in their size 0 clothes.  We are surely going to miss it here.  But we are also looking forward to going home. Only 3 more sleeps.  We have met alot of wonderful people from around the world. Everyone is here for the same thing to regain their quality of life. We are all like a family here including the staff.  We are truely going to miss everyone.

Injections going good

Jaysen is doing really well with the injections. I can see that he is improving . He is not chocking anymore at all. His balance in getting better. He is no longer taking his medication for depression and  says that he is feeling very good. We went to the silk market and he walked down a steep ramp without falling.  So there are good things happening.  The staff here are awesome people.  The only thing is that when we go out we are stared at lots. With Jay being 6ft 1 and me being 5ft 7 and anyone knowing me knows that I have that very tiny figure.  I am starting to feel like I am a freak. But other than that it is a good place.  People are very nice and kind. The nurses and doctors  are fantastic. They cannot do enough for you. We have met people from all over the world. Everyone here is like one family. The closeness that we have is incredible. That helps with the homesickness.  I miss my family at home but the family that we have here has help alot. Also having webcams and internet help too. Jay could stay here indifinetly . He loves China. Especially the massages and the young nurses. He also loves the food.  Not me man. Just starting to try a little nibble. Can’t wait to get off that plane at home and have myself a big juicy Alberta beef cheese burger and a big glass of milk.

Sorry it took us so long

Sorry it took so long to get going on this blog but we had a few problems gettin it set up. Well Jay has had two spinals done already . The first one went great. He has no headache, just a stiff back.  He was ready to get up after 4 hours but we almost had to hog tie him down. We did manage to keep him down for 5 hours then he figured he needed to pace the halls. The first and second round of pacing the nurse told him to go back to his room to lie down and on the 3rd round the doctor came and told him to go lie down. He had no problems. But on the second injection he had major problems. Needed to have for freezing because he felt most of the procedure and he went into shock, but the good thing that came out of this is that he got some good pain killers and slept most of the next day. We talked to the doctors about the freezing and they are going to give him more the next time.  The funny thing is watching him sleep in these beds because he is 6ft 1 inch and he  is stuffed in the bed.  The accupuncture  he is not loving to much.  I do see a difference in his pyhsio he is doing it much better after the 1st stem cell injection.  Also he has noticed  his swollowing is much better. He doesn’t choke as easy when he eats.  But it sure didn’t affect his eating any. He still eats like a horse.
