This will blow you away. Jordan and I went to McDonalds today for brkfst. We had been there 3 times and I had never paid attention to the fact that they played American music over the pa system. Well, today when I got our order and sat down with Jordan the next song that came on was “I Believe I Can Fly”. For those of you who were at the Flashbacks concert you can imaging the chill bumps I had. I literally sat and cried as the song was played. I get stared at anyway so what did it matter. Well, you can imagine how excited I am to get home and have the therapy continue and see the improvement in Jordan.

I could not log on last night so I am writing this at 5:30 A.M. We did our last stem cell treatment this afternoon!! We did it-we came and have done all six treatments and now it’s over and time to come home!! Jordan is so excited because I have been packing and she knows it is getting closer. This has been the longest “doctor visit” of our lives. Luca called the airlines today and got weight limits for our luggage 22.5 kilos each 2 per person to check and 1 each to carry on at 18 kilos. I have taken each of my suitcases to the nurses station 2/3 times each to make sure I am not overweight!!! They have started laughing every time they see me. One funny thing that happened. We were on our way to the RTMart and someone in a “rickshaw” hollered “Hey Sabrina”. Now let me tell you–that will freak you out hearing that in China where you don’t know anyone. It was Susanna (Venz) and she was on her way back to the hospital. It was funny to me and gave me a good laugh. Please keep us in your prayers. Love,
Sabrina and Jordan

Well this is our last Thursday in China. I can’t say I’m upset. I have learned alot today. This province is the richest in China. I did an interview for Beike stem cells website. I don’t know if it will be used or not but they have it. Jordan did therapies today all but accupuncture but it wasn’t her fault she missed it. She had to be video taped to show how she has improved since her arrival. It isn’t anything earth shattering now but we have to give it time. I told them (drs and nurses) that we Americans aren’t use to waiting we expect immediate results. I went to RTMart today and had all of my digital photos printed (190) plus I had one enlarged to give to the drs and the total cost was $24.00–they charge .085 per picture to develop. Yes, Jordan had chicken for lunch and supper again today. I am going to order her a pizza tomorrow since it is her last treatment. They delivered my banner a few minutes (60 rmb) and it looks great. I am going to try and get a picture of it before I leave. The doctors and some of the therapists and some nurses all had their pictures made with Jordan and I had one enlarged to give them. I am so glad we came for several reasons but I am so glad that in two days we will come home. I am going to go now and get ready for bed before sarge orders me to. Please keep praying for us. Love to all,
Sabrina and Jordan

I woke up this a.m. at 5:55 and there was no water so I went back to bed. No water in a hospital? Anyway, around 7 it was restored and I got my day going. I washed dishes and when Jordan woke up around 8 I was ready to cook her brkfst and get her ready for therapy. She did electric wave, pt and standing so now all that is left is accupuncture. Around 10:30 Dr. Tony and Luca came in so I could ask any and all questions before her last trtmt. This is by iv on Friday and we leave to come home on Sunday. I am so excited to come home but I dread the trip knowing just how tiring it is. Do you think I can land in Hville and then be in bed in Trinity in one hour or less? I am sure going to try. Jordan had accupuncture but only let Andy put 3 needles in her head. Who can argue with her when she has been so very good about this all month. Mr. Lee came in to remind me to order my flowers and we are going to go get them on Saturday. I hope my banner and cakes are ready tomorrow. Lucy promised they would so I have to take her at her word. I am going to have just enough food to finish the week. I am just trying to decide what to do Sunday a.m. because we will have to get up very early to be ready to leave on time. We are going to brkfst at McDonald’s on Saturday before we shop for flowers. She eats 2 big breakfasts and it totally amazes me. We are waiting on dinner to be delivered now–she is having ckn nuggets–suprise! Luca came in to see Jordan before he leaves for the day. I find out he’s been holding out on a web site that plays shows without that pause while it downloads. It’s “youku.com” so I went to it and lo and behold type in the show name and there it is. This is the Chinese version of “youtube” how neat. Jordan and I have been watching Seinfeld and are about to go to bed. Thursday will be the longest day because she only has therapy. Keep praying for us please! Love

Another day done and this one has been a doozy. Jordan slept through the night with no problem and got up in a mood. She did not want to do anything and we really haven’t. The only therapy she would do was the electric wave and then she refused p.t., accupuncture and standing. I took her to the RTMart for some eggs and to get nuggets from KFC (she will have a beak) and Dr. Mike was waiting for the elevator at the same time. I got to talking with him and he is so very kind and really seems concerned with his patients. He was also interested in the diet. I don’t think they use the diet over here. Anyway, he was asking me what she eats and about her supplements so maybe they might use it in the future. I told him about my package from home being in customs. Around 4:30 today I got a call from FEDEX re: package. They started out wanting copies of my visa and passport so I went to get an interpretor and of course Luca was busy and Alf and Sid were gone. Nurse Sophie came to help me and when all is said and done since it has food in it they cannot deliver it. I have to have certification from an agency in the states that it is safe to eat. What a joke! In order for them to throw out the Oscar Mayer precooked bacon and the cheese it will take at least a week and they will not guarantee delivery before I leave. To return the package I have to write them a letter and fax it to them. This hospital DOES NOT have a fax. So when Richard woke up this a.m. he was given yet another task. We will see if we ever get it back. Then Alice delivered Jordan’s supper and it wasn’t right. Instead one order of nuggets I had five. Jordan probably would have eaten them but anyway I finally had only one order of nuggets. So bad days do happen in foreign countries. I was telling momma/daddy tonight that one change I see in Jordan is that she is even more independent. She flat out refused to touch her nose for the doctor this a.m. turned over face down on the bed. Heaven help me when I get home. Well she is again ordering me to bed. For those who have asked my internet service is very hit and miss and I have not been able to log on for the past few days. I ordered our banner today for the doctors. It says: “Thank you for proving that faith, love, hope and care know no boundaries. Love, Jordan Stover and Family Alabama USA April, 2008″. I also ordered the cakes today for the nurses/pt staff and now I have to get them flowers. I have a few things to keep me busy along with Jordan. She is ordering me to bed again now so I better go. Please keep us in your prayers a little longer. Love to all,
Sabrina and Jordan
PS Thanks for all the comments-I feel like we have had conversations.

Jordan had her last lumbar puncture today and I am so very glad. Dr. Mike and the whole crew came around this morning to visit. Dr. Mike had been traveling to conferences on stem cells. I am sure he was not in the states. That was ugly. Anyway, he still encourages me as much or more than Dr. Tony about the results we will see in the next couple of months and longer. He wants to communicate with Drs. Hull and Bebin as well as Dr. Tony and I also appreciate that. Jordan had therapy and Tina said she worked so-so and was asking for me. Tina brings her to me and I asked her about standing therapy and Jordan wants to go right then. Tina looked at me like she had lost her mind because she had asked Jordan and Jordan did not want to do it then. Tina is expecting her first child in November then she will understand. Anyway, after the lumbar, Jordan comes back to the room and is supposed to lie flat for 4-6 hours. 1 1/2 hours later I am calling a nurse and physically holding her down. In comes Dr. Huang, Dr. Tony, 2 nurses and Luca. They were all suprised esp. Dr. Tony and then someone tells that Jordan is Dr. Tony’s favorite and he is shocked by her behaviour. I put my fingers to my head like devil horns and he really enjoyed that. None of the doctors, nurses, or Luca could believe how mad she was. They finally told her to just sit up if that made her happy and increased her i.v. drip so that could be taken out early. As soon as the i.v. came out she was fine. She ate her chicken nuggets like always and then watched a little Andy Griffith and is now telling me to go to bed. I think the stem cells have given her more independence if nothing else! 5 down and 1 to go and that is an i.v. injection on Friday. I am going to go to bed and possibly rest. She usually tells me right after I lie down that she needs to go to the bathroom. Please pray for my sanity as well as Jordan. Love to all,
Sabrina

Went to McDonald’s for breakfast again and Jordan ate 2 big breakfasts again. I so wish I had her metabolism! Then we went to West Lake with the family from Georgia. We road the boats there and went to two islands; took pictures and then went on the the temple. It was a one way ride and you had to either catch the bus or a taxi to take you back to where you started so we had to call one of the interpretors and have them call the drivers to come and get us. You really need to speak the language when you are in a foreign country. When we left the park Mr. Lee took us to a nice restaurant so we could have a late lunch. It was wonderful–a French restaurant–we had beef tenderloin with scalloped potatoes and snow peas. It was the best meal I have had in at least 25 days. We then came back to the hospital and Jordan threw another “homesick” fit. This one was so bad the nurses came to check on her. She finally calmed down and ate another meal and has gone to bed. I know she is homesick and it doesn’t matter how I tell/show her how long till we get home she wants to go now. I am going to bed now because she has her last lumbar puncture tomorrow afternoon and it will be a very busy morning. Please keep us in your prayers. Love to all,
Sabrina and Jordan

Another day done. I know that sounds terrible but when Saturday is a free day it tends to be long. We rode in the rickshaw thing again today. Jordan had a blast. We went with Susanna (Venz) to silk market and then we went with her to buy a formal gown for a party in her country when she gets home. This was a bridal shop as well and it was truly amazing and beautiful. You had to either take off your shoes or put booties on over them while in there. She found a lovely dress and talked them down to 1000 rmb. Divide by 7 and thats our cost. I am tooo tired to do it. Anyway we came back and I had ordered a pizza for Jordan and I fed her the toppings. We are headed to bed now–we are both exhausted and I don’t think either of us rests very well in these beds. I hope everyone is able to attend church Sunday because it is indeed a privilege to be able to go. I talked to Susanna today and she attends a church that believes in God only no Jesus nothing but God. Anyway I now understand what freedom means and I also understand just how lucky we Americans are. I hope everyone is well and will write again tomorrow. Please keep us in your prayers. Love,
Sabrina and Jordan

We got to sleep in till 7:00 today. Jordan had electrical wave therapy at 8:30 and then we are free until 2:30. The family from Georgia arrived this a.m. They are here with their son 19 months old who is blind. His optic nerve never developed fully. Jordan and I walked to RTMart and picked up my pictures and got her some chicken–yes chicken again. When we got back we actually rode the elevator from the first floor to the 20th without having to stop and we were by ourselves the whole time!!!!!!! Small things bring great pleasure. When the doctor came in I asked him if he would stay in touch with Dr. Hull and Dr. Bebin and monitor Jordan’s progress in the States. He has no problem with this and I am so glad. She never ceases to amaze me with the accupuncture. Andy had to “bleed” her under her chin again today and she never flinched. Nurse Sophie was in here and told her over and over how brave she is. Sophie told me she is afraid of needles and will NOT do accupuncture. Andy did her P.T. today and he was pleased with her progress so far. We went to eat and night shopping with the folks from GA and had a ball. Mr. Lee and Mr. Hon drove us and they are soooo good with the children they pushed them in their strollers and kept them entertained. I had been before so I did not buy anything but Jenny and Ashley had a ball dickering for purses and backpacks. We have finished one more week and I am so excited to be that much closer to home. As I have asked all along please keep us in your prayers. Hope everyone is well. Love,
Sabrina and Jordan
