Well we have been home now for a month. Seems like there was so much to get caught up on and our garden still needs alot more attention.
Since we have been home I have started working with Kacie with some flash cards. Trying to make her use her eyes as much as we can. When we first started with the flash cards she said that will be boring and its for babies but if we don’t work on them she sure ask about them and then she admits its kinda fun to be really seeing those things. She could see the cards about 4 inches away and could name most of her colors and shapes. The shapes were a black line on white card and she couldn’t hardly tell the shape so I colored it red for her. She then could identify those shapes. I hadn’t worked with her with those in about a week because of the 4th of July holiday we had been really busy. Well yesterday I worked with those again and she just flew threw them. This time she could tell the shapes even the ones that wasn’t colored in. She was also lookin at them about 8 inches away insead of 4. She is also learning her numbers. I will show her a card with a number and if she doesn’t know it I will have her describe to me what it looks like then I will tell her that number. She is really pickin up on those fast too. Her eyes don’t seem to shake near like they use to. And when you tell her to look at something both eyes turn toward it.
The other night we were tuckin her and bubby in bed. Daddy was down on his knees tuckin bubby in and when Kacie came in she stepped right over his legs. Usually if she had to step over something there was alot of toe stumping and studdar steppin and sometimes she wouldn’t make it over. She just flat stepped right over his legs. He was like “Kacie you just stepped over my legs”. She said” well i could see them.” It was just another moment of smiling between daddy and me.
Before we went to China I had went to see her pediatrician to see what he thought. All he would say was we were on our own and he didn’t know anything about it. But when we went the other day he was so excited. He had Kacie count his fingers and he didn’t say anything he just smiled. When we were leaving, he walked up to the nurses station and told the nurses she counted my fingers and everyone was like Yeah!!. Just made me feel better knowing that he was excited about it. He wanted to make sure that we were working with her at least an hour everyday on looking at things.
I’ll update as more changes happen. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
