We went down town Qingdao

May 18th, 2008 by Kacie

Well today Kacie has been doing perdy good. She woke up at 4:45 this morning. She’s sleeping a little later every day. She woke up talking up a storm I guess she had saved it all up from yesterday when she didn’t feel good. We finally got to get out of the hospital. We went down town Qingdao. I was so cool. There were big buildings everywhere. We rode in one of those crazy taxis. They didn’t have seat belts, and those of you who know Kacie and how she has to buckle up just drivin threw the field to check the cows, knows how much this worried her. It was about a 40 min. taxi drive from the hospital but guess what we found? A McDonalds!! I’m usually not a Mcdonalds kinda person but right now it was the greatest thing. After that we went shopping for Kacie a China Doll. She has been wanting one since we got here and we didn’t pack any of her dolls from home. She found 2 dolls and was tickled to death. We were planing on going to the beach but Kacie got very tired and didn’t feel like going so we came back to the hospital so Kacie could lay down. She is laying down now and playing with her new dolls.  She seems ok since she has layed down.

We’re still counting down the days til we come home. We’re still missin everyone back there. Can’t wait to give my little bubby a big hug.

Please keep her in your prayers.

Not as good of a day

May 17th, 2008 by Kacie

After the treatment kacie did really good. She was the bravest little girl and I was so proud of her. She wasn’t lookin forward to the 6 hours of flat on her back. She did really good for the first2 hours and she could have a little water then. But the next hour was long, she was so ready to get off of her back and move around. We finally put in a movie and i snuggled up to her in her little bed she went to sleep in no time. So that made the remainder of the 6 hours. She woke up 45 mins after her 6 hours were up and seemed to be doing good. She drank some more and had some strawberries. She didn’t think she was tired because she had laid there so long. I moved her from her little bed to the big bed and snuggled her and she went to sleep again. She slept all night and didn’t wake up till 4:30 am which is like sleepin in for us because we’ve been wakin up at 2 am. One of these days we will get on china time. Probably bout the time to come home(Ha Ha). Today she has done pretty good. After she was up for a while she started complaining about her head hurting a little, so after acupuncture she laid down and has been there ever since. She wasn’t wanting to eat or drink which ain’t like kacie at all. We’ve been makin her drink water all morning and she finally eat some lunch about 1.  I think not feeling good and laying around so much made her start missin her daddy and home alot. She kept tearing up and saying she just wants to go home and see her daddy and drink some good ol well water. She’s not a bottled water kinda girl. She’s doing ok right now a little fever and headache but we’re listening to Junie B. Jones books and that takes her mind off of things. I think we’re going to go to the beach tomorrow(maybe) that will get her mind off of things for sure. We are so ready to get out and sight see. Well I ‘ll update you again later.  Missing you all back home something awful. And my little bubby and daddy too.

loving you all,

Kacie’s first treatment day

May 17th, 2008 by Kacie

The internet has been down so I couldn’t get on the computer. But it is up and running now. Kacie and I woke up at 2 A.M. this morning we are having trouble getting on China time. Kacie will go at 2:10 P.m. to get her first spinal treatment. She had to quit eating & drinking at 11. She didn’t think she would mind not eating but she sure likes to have her water.  She ate some spaghetti for lunch and a big glass of lemonade and got done right at her time limit.  She’s doing really good so far. Not near as homesick as she was. She’s laughing and  being her silly self again. I’m really missing bubby(colby) & Stephen. It sure helps gettin to see them on the computer. i will get back to ya after her treatment and let you know how she’s doing

Acupuncture & RT mart

May 15th, 2008 by Kacie

Well today has been better than yesterday. We are not as tired as we were yesterday. We woke up at 4 this morning wide awake so we just got up and started our day. Kacie got her first acupuncture today. She was really nervous at first then she calmed down. They leave them in for 30 min. so I read Little House on the Prairie book  to her. That helped her relax. While we were in there grandma(judy) went, with Jack and another lady who just got here last night, to the bank and the RT mart. Judy had to brave it by herself. She came back with lots of stuff, i can’t wait til we can go.

Kacie’s been working on some school stuff, that her teachers sent with her, to pass the time.

I really enjoy reading all the post thank you so much for them. Kacie gets her first treatment tomorrow. Please keep her in your prayers. Love and miss you all.

We’ve made it!!!

May 14th, 2008 by Kacie

Hello to all, what a trip. We are so tired and are already counting down the days to come home. We are missing everyone so much. We are  getting settled in to our room. The doctors and nurses have been coming in getting Kacie’s info every little bit. Kacie is passed out on the bed she was exhausted from the trip. Everyone here has been so nice and helpful. We had a Pizza for lunch shortly after we arrived. It was pretty good. We think that if we can’t find anything else to eat that we can survive on pizza.

They brought in her schedule just a little bit ago and she gets her first treatment on Friday the 16th. It will be the I.V. injection.

We will be going out tomorrow to the bank and the RT mart. I believe they told us that a family from Canada and then another from the US will becoming here tomorrow and they will go with us there.

Please keep Kacie in your prayers. We love and miss everyone.
