Kade has four treatments and has one last one this up coming monday. His spinal went very well today, although, he was not asleep at all for it. They gave him some medicine to sleep and again did not give him any valume. He seemed to do a lot better than last time, and was a happy camper when they brought him back out. He was talking and smiling for about 2 hours after the procedure and then finally feel asleep. We thought keeping him on his back was going to be difficult, but Kade has been really good about laying down. As far as improvemetns go, we have seen a number of little things. For example, his eyes, in my opinion, have started to dialate more, he’s more confident in everything he does like crawling, standing, which he has been standing for longer periods of time. He also has been turning his head both ways, where as before he would only turn his head a little to the left to get some type of stimulation. We think it may be because he is seeing some light or getting some kind of stimulation from each eye. Another thing that we have noticed is he is talking a lot more and is starting to understand what you tell him. For example, we let him crawl on the bed and if you tell him to find the wall he will crawl to it, (sometimes), and right before he gets to it, (most of the time), he will put his hand out and feel for the wall. Some more things he does, is when you tell him to clap his hands, he will, and when you tell him to say words like mama, dada, go, uh-oh, wow, he will repeat what you told him to say. This, however, may be from just developing age wise, but on the other hand we would like to think it is because of the treatments.
Kade has his last treatment on Mon, but we don’t leave until the following Saturday, so we will have a lot of time to kill, and money to spend lol. We can’t tell you how much we are excited to almost be home and continue our journey for the next couple of months, as Kade hopefully improves even more. We will write more soon….and pray that we get some sleep tonight lol.
Yay!!!!! 1 more to go. Then I hope you guys can get out and enjoy yourselves a bit and not have to look forward to another treatment! Kade is such a strong little guy, I just miss him so much! Improvements can continue for up to a year…so it will be fun watching him when he gets back home! You guys are so strong, and I know staying in a hospital for so long is not easy, but look what chance you have given Kade! Anna and Steven, you have put yourselves, your school, your everday lives on hold for Kade. Thanks you from all of us for being so strong and being there with him. Take care…try and post some more pictures please! Love mom/nana

I’m so excited to know that there have been some improvements!! You are my hero, Anna. You really are. I’m so impressed by your drive to better Kade’s life. God did know that you could handle this and that you were the best person to be Kade’s mama! He’s a lucky little guy! And Steve, you’re just amazing. You impress me, baby boy. Thanks for stepping up.
I can’t wait to see these improvements for myself. I know that this has helped him! Whoohoo for Kade!!! I miss you my little tiny guy! Judah can’t wait to see you. He told my friend the other day that Jesus was in China as well as his Uncle Steve, Anna, and Tiny Kade. LOL It was funny when he told him but you know what, he’s right. Jesus is watching over you guys. Kids are smart.
Love you!!!
Anna and Steven and of course Kade, we can see the progress vicariously through your words and expressions as you are diligent in allowing us to see it all through the information you provide us all. I cannot even fathom Anna, how I would get through something like this and you are such a worrior. Thank God this time is passing and positive outcomes are to be had.
Now take full advantage of your opportunity to see another culture and another piece of this large world. Take pictures and create memories that you can sit down one day and explain to your little guy how he is a blessing through your eyes.
Hope you are feeling well as some times the change in food and environment can take a toll on you too. Take care of yourself and have a little fun. See ya real soon with open arms and awakened hope. Tia
Anna, ….every little thing you are noticing is an improvement because of the stem cell therapy and it is just the beginning. If you have a diary or daily log, jot down the changes you see daily, just a word list. After a month or so you’ll really be able to realize how far he’s come.
