Kade had his last spinal today and we’re so glad that it is all over. Today they tried giving him valume but it just made him hyper and cranky. so, then they gave him the medicine through the erector (butt) but he still did not want to fall asleep. The doctors also informed us that he was really difficult this last time and they had to call in another doctor to hole him down during the procedure. in the end he did fairly well. Were glad it is over with though. As of right now we still have two more hours to keep him on his back but he seems to be doing fine and in an okay mood. he has kept us busy today though. as far as his teeth go, he has one cutting through his gums and seems like there is two other on their way. kade has grown so much in the time we’ve been here. he has finally learned how to stand on his own and we are now working on him getting him self up from a sitting position. it was very satisfying for us to hear from other patients that they think kade has improved in their eyes as well. on top of all that, he has gained two pounds since weve been here!!! Another satisfying thing that Steven got to witness while i was in the shower is when the doctors did the light test on his eyes, he reached up to grab the light twice!!! the first time they moved the light from his right eye to his left and he grabbed it very quickly. the second time they went from his legs toward his left eye and again grabbed the light (didnt respond as quick though). so that alone has made this trip well worth it.
From here on out, were free to do whatever it is we want. our flight isnt until saturday so i would imagine being out on the town a little more. Thanks to everyone who has been a consistent reader and everyone for their support. we will continue to write more blogs about what we do with in the week.
Hi Anna, we are glad Kade is all done. We can’t wait till he gets back so we can play with him. That is so cool that he touched the light. Is he grabbing for things on purpose yet? Mom says give kade a kiss for her and us too. See ya soon sister schmutz! love Lucas and Reece.
Praise God! I join you in believing that these treatments are going to benefit him for the rest of his life! You will look back and realize that a month wasn’t that long to sacrifice when you see a positive outcome! How thrilling that Kade has responded positively to these treatments. It must be horrible for him to have to deal with all of this however and teething and learning to walk all at the same time, but 2 lbs? lol at least he’s eating…
Can’t wait to see you guys! Just a few more days….
Take care and God Bless you.

TEARS, TEARS, TEARS!!! How exciting!!! OMG!!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I’m speechless…ok, maybe not. It’s crazy that I believe in the God of the impossible and sometimes can’t believe what is possible. My co-workers are thrilled too. I’m so thankful. Wow.
Hello, I work wtih Ceceilia, and have been updated with Kade’s progress. I get goosebumps everytime I read your blogs. I am so amazed with all of this. Most of all your strength as a young mother. I pray for the absolute best for your beautiful son and your family. I get teary eyed everytime I ask Cece about Kade. I truly hope he gets to see his mommy one day….How wonderful it is that he has this opportunity.
What good news and I know there will be more to come in the following months. I am so grateful to all the people that made this possible, scientists, doctors, all the people that have helped Kade in the hospital, etc.,… and…..especially your mom (my wonderful daughter) for all the work she did raising the money to give her grandson this chance.
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You did it
And so much more is in store for you. Lots of hugs and kisses from COLORADO. We love you very much and we are all smiles for KADE!!! Its just the beginning sweetheart.

Hi Anna, Kade, and Steven,
Well, not the food or smells!
I’m so happy to hear about Kade reacting to the light by grabbing at it!!! It brought tears to my eyes b/c I know exactly how it feels to witness it for the first time. Wow….keep up the good work little man and you’ll be home before you know it. Enjoy your last days in China…believe it or not we somewhat miss it!
Love from Louisiana

You are amazing KADE, and so blessed to have the mom you have!!! Ana you have been persistent and patient and it has paid off. From here on out, you will see the positive outcomes become more and more evident. He is your light and your sunshine I am blessed with you allowing me to share in your endeavor. Thank you and God bless you!!
I have been listening to the song that says
“You are so beautiful; there is none that compares to YOU…
Who can take my brokenness and make something new??? ONLY YOU
You’re beautiful to me; you’ll be my song for all eternity,
You’re overtaking every part of me you’re beautiful to me”
That is who God is!!! He makes something precious and new every day out of the lives, trust in Him and you will see his mercy and grace in everything you do.
