Day 10 – Day Off
August 8th, 2010
It was good to be able to have the day off today!!
Yesterday was just the day from HELL. Woke up at 8am to a film crew on the ward. There must have been a good 20+ of them and cables & equipment were all over the place and right outside our door. This was the second day they were on the ward!!! I was not a happy bunny………it was unsafe for Keiran to even walk to the kitchen. To add injury to insult every time I opened the bedroom door I was told to be quiet or I couldn’t leave the room as they were in the middle of filming. They were even cheeky enough to close my door when I left it ajar. So, Keiran & I felt even more like caged animals!!!!!!! They didn’t leave until just before 6pm!!! What’s worse is they are coming back in the week for another couple of days. I do hope they are not expecting us to stay in our rooms AGAIN & not have access to the cooking facilities & common area………………God help them if I get PMT!!!
To add to all the hasle going on outside the room, everything I was doing on the computer was going wrong. I couldn’t log in to MSN & I had problems with Skype. Some of my desktop Icons had disappeared……….I was so frustrated.
Then it got even worse. Keiran & I were talking to mum back home & Keiran just broke down in tears & sobbed for about 20 mins 
As you can imagine, I then went to pieces & so did my mum. We’re gonna have our good days & we’re gonna have our bad & Keiran really felt homesick. So it was a Pizza & popcorn for comfort food……..he soon picked up.
Got taught how to play Texas Holdem’……never played before but managed to win the whole bag of pistachio nuts (don’t know how) & beat Cody, Janet & Graham. Was a gd way to cheer Keiran & I up.
Today was a walk down to the Holiday Inn for lunch with some of the other families on the ward. It was really weird, as Gerry recognised us from November……even asked where Chris & family were lol!
The Director & another Dr from Singapore came in and wanted to talk to us about our last trip over and about the whole experience. Ask me questions, and I tell you no lies!!!
Gonna finish chilling for a bit before a busy day tomorrow……..Treatment #3 via IV.

I am gutted for you, that you had such a bad day and it went from bad to worse! But pleased you are having a better day today!
Reading this brings tears to my eyes sis, knowing that you both are out there on your own and you are breaking down! I know you have said that keiran is going to have some bad days but i am glad i got to speak to him/see him this morning seeming quite happy! Asking him whether he regretted going or not was maybe a silly thing to ask so i do apologise but i am pleased that he said NO HE DIDN’T REGRET IT!.
As i (and everyone) keeps saying we are so proud of you both, especially you Keiran going through that treatment again but you are a LITTLE STAR and we love you loads and loads!!!!
Good luck for your treatment tomorrow, will be thinking of you as always!!

wow hunni, what a day for ya both! you have done soooo amazing coping with everything (even when your not coping you really are) because you’re ready to take on another day, whatever it throws at you. You & Keiran are going to be stronger than ever as mum & son and keiran is one special man to be going through what he is and smiling the otherside:)
Has it changed for the better in any way at all? Funny Gerry asking after us…oh dear, we must of left an impression! Bet the nurses n Dr’s haven’t asked…we weren’t there best clients!
Now, fingers crossed the computer behaves!…And the blasted film crew! madness! And let it spill! They asked fot it! lol
Once again, hope all goes well tom and will be lookin for updates.

hello brave soldiers…just read your day from hell, i thought i had a a rough day! everything will be fine, you are both an inspiration to all who know you. you will be home before you know it and may even be TV celebs! LOL!

Hi China Boy, oh I’m sorry that you both had a bad day mine was all right but im so thrustrateded as im cleaning my room lol. Tilly is all right, she had an operation on Friday but she’s fine.
good luck for the third treatment buddy, hope you have fantastic improvements afterwards. gotta go now but good luck.

Hiya…….OMG I cannot believe how inconsiderate those people are making you stay in yr room and be quiet – damn cheek and, as from the safety aspects, they obviously haven’t thought that thro have they???? It made me cry reading your comments about how you, Keiran and then yr mum broke down, but maybe a good cry was what you needed sis. Hopefully yr both feeling a lot better now and at least you have got connected back into f,b etc and managed to get back on skype too. Stay strong, our thoughts as ever are with you both and we are all so proud of you both for managing with everything. Keep smiling babe and hugs and kisses to you both from us all.
