On the mainland

china-two-141.jpgWell I have made in onto mainland China.  Good gosh I hate that plane flight!  It is this never ending trip or so it seems.  Someone remind me to do a write up on all the things patients and families should take with them on the plane to make it easier.  I need to include “compression stocking” on the list.  My ankles and feet looked like puffy dough by the time I hit the hotel last night.

I am at the Grand View in ShenZhen which is located in the Nan Shan district.  It took me about 20 minutes to get my internet and email working but it is now all up and running.  Of course I was greeted by about 100 messages last night.  I took care of the quickies and will work on the rest today.

OK as soon as i laid down last night I had to say it aloud even though there was no one to hear me “beds in China Suck!”  No matter if you are in a nice hotel, which I am or in the hospital they are like sleeping on boards.  My spine, neck and back are all unhappy campers this morning.  I had to take Baclofen first thing when I got up because I could barely move from the pain and spasms.  I never take this stuff in the morning anymore but today at 5 am there was no way I could avoid it.

It is Sunday early morning in China and no one works at the office on Sunday so i will just have to fill my day with shopping; oh so sad isn’t it.  Jessie lives about 2 minutes from the hotel and is coming over late morning to pick me up.  We are going to spend the day at one of my favorite shopping spots near the train station.  Nothing like getting right into the heart of shopping in China!  I promised my son, Brandon that I would look for some Pokemon today.

Well I best get back to my real work so that I will be guilt free later when I am playing and not working.

Love to my kid and my family!  Hello to all my friends and “knee how” from China to all of you.
