So Far!

October 29th, 2008

I am already being asked if I have noticed any changes in Kitty since her I.V. treatment on Monday! The first thing I did say to the crowd of doctors waiting for my answer was, “well, she’s alot happier today!” That was yesterday, and less than 24hrs had passed, but today one of the other Mum’s asked if Kitty was walking better in her walker, and although it was something I thought I’d seen, I hadn’t commented on it in case I was just looking for a change. The environment here is great for her to scoot around, but once she gets going, her speed and number of really good steps is impressive. Maybe it’s just the space and floor surface, or maybe those little cells are helping already?

Kitty had acupressure this morning, after electro wave therapy and just before an hour of physio, so she was exhausted. Many of the patients do have acupuncture, but apparently because Kits had seizures after she was born, it was decided she should’t have a load of acupuncture needles stuck in her. (Sorry Caro, won’t be able to bring back those photos for you!!).

Well, the futon mattress is calling. I’m tempted to ask one of the therapists here for a deep tissue back massage, it’s like sleeping on concrete. Might chuck a few RMB’s (local dosh) at a foam mattress and then just leave it here. Got another 20 days to get through, and plenty of spending to do! That will have to wait till the weekend though, as our days are full of therapies, check ups, and of course treatments!

Wishing everyone well,

More noodles anyone?? x

    Hello Girls,
So glad everything’s going to plan for you, it must be hard eating all that chinese food! It was lovely to see simon & Rubes last weekend and look forward to spending a night in the village hall with them both this Saturday!
Keep up the good work on the blog Debs but also make sure you get plenty of shut eye on that concrete. We are thinking of you lots and sending our love to you all.

Hi Kitty! It sounds like you are doing very well and being very brave! I am sure all the medical things happening around you must be quite scary at times. I really hope that this works wonders for you – I know from our mutual little friend that the benefits could mostly be seen a month or so afterwards, so hang in there! To Debbie and Wendy and Simon – I hope that you are all holding up too, and are enjoying your adventure more than being stressed about it. Thinking of you guys! Thanks for doing the blog – it’s lovely to keep up to date with how it’s going. XXX Kerry

Deb, it all sounds hard work, treat yourself to that matress as you are going to need all the sleep you can get. It sounds as if kitty is going to progress with the treatment you have been so determined to provide for her.

Hope your mum is ok and we send you lots of love and best wishes, take care.

    Hi Kitty, Mum & Grandma,
What a busy day you have had. I bet you sleep well Kitty. (I hope so anyway) Sounds like you might not sleep as well Deb. Perhaps you need to buy that matress pretty soon.

It is great to hear your news and progress please keep it coming.

    All our love as always

    John & Jan
