I am in China and I miss you all in Australia. On our first night in China we saw fireworks out the hospital window. We sometimes also hear fireworks in the daytime.
Mum or Dad reads stories to us (me and my big sister Moana) from the hospital bookshelf or from the library back at school, when we are having treatment. I try to be brave when I have accupuncture and today I was brave! I like accupressure the best out of the therapies!
Dad met Macie (another patient at the hospital) and her family and we’ve become friends with Macie and her brother Eastern. We also made a friend from Ireland and his name is Jake. We all have fun playing together in the hospital. We like to do puzzles, colouring-in and ball games.
I’m trying my best to do some homework. I’m usually really busy during the day but if I don’t get a chance to do it, I try to do it the next day. Sometimes I get up really early and do a bit of my homework because I really like doing my homework!

Hello Leilani,
It’s so nice to hear from you!!
I think you and Moanna are very brave little girls. I hope the needles doen’t hurt too much. Isn’t your mummy lovely reading you stories. How are the liitle sisters. I hope they are being good for mummy and daddy too.
How nice it is that you made some new friends. It will be very interesting listening to them speak, with their unusual accents. i bet they think you have an unusual accent too, coming from Australia.
Looking forward to to hearing from you agin soon.

Leillani, great to hear you LOVE doing homework Mrs Muscat will be impressed. The wonderful thing about having a mum who is a teacher is that she can make up some homework any time you like.
It is interesting that you hear fireworks often. You might be able to find out why fireworks are so common in China. The children in your class would love to hear about China when you get back – I wonder if they would be brave enough to have accupuncture?

Hello Leilani,
You are becoming an expert in medical terminology! I’m impressed. I.V stem cells. Wow! How long does this take to go into your arm? Is it cold the whole time or does it warm up ? What do you do while you are waiting?
You will be very impressed with your Kindy friends. Both this week and last week Kindergarten have shown the rest of the school how to behave at assembly. They were the very best of all. This week they got to leave first because they were perfect the whole time. Not too bad for just 35 days at school.
I spent some time in your classroom this week. Mrs Wormald and Mrs Muscat were showing off… The children can put numbers in order from 1-20. It was a race to see which class could do it faster. i think KW were winning.
Love to you and your family.
See you soon.
