Hello to everyone.  Luke and I are back in the room after is 3rd stem cell treatment today, 2nd spinal injection.  He is doing well and just lying on his side watching me as I type. We were separated for about 40 minutes the longest time yet since we left St. Louis on October 2nd.

Luke seems more relaxed after this treatment and looks like he is thinking about something, I know he is missing his mother and big bro.  When I was waiting for Luke to come out of the procedure room they put us VIP parents, thats what they call the stem cell floors, in a room of our own. I was comfortably alone for 30 minutes thinking about  family and friends that have made this trip possible and the potential that it could have on Luke’s life. THANKYOU ALL!!!

Being alone also gave me a chance to think about my sons, wife and soon to be another son and daughter  I love them completely and constatly.  They are reason I go to work in the morning and come home as soon as I can in the evening.    Luke andI have had a chance to bond more closely since we have been here and I have learned a couple of things.  1) You cannot make a 18 month old eat no matter how badly you want them too.  2) Luke has the temper of his father and the smile of his mother.  3) Do not standup with Luke to quickly after drinking 7oz bottle of strawberry Pedisure or you will be cleaning puke of his cloths and yours in the bathroom sink.

Looking forward to seeing everyone,

Clint and Luke

I am so glad Luke is doing ok with the treatments, I’ve been really curious about how that’s been going. It’s great that you & Luke have been able to have this bonding time, even though he’s too young probably to remember the specifiics when he’s older, it’s a bond he’ll feel for the rest of his life.
Clint, I’ve seen many fathers with their children over the years with babysitting & preschool teaching, but never the kind of father you are. It takes a special kind of man to do what you are doing, and what you and Cheri do every day for your family. I couldnt be prouder to call you my brother-in-law. Thank you for taking such good care of them, it comforts us here to know that they have you & your family close. Thank you to them also for everything.
    Love, Cathy

    Clint & Cheryl,

I came across your story in the Columbia newspaper. I am from Jefferson City but do not live there now as my husband is in the military. We have a little boy that is 2 months younger than Luke and also has Cerebral Palsy. The way Luke was described in the article reminds me so much of my son. I would love to get in contact with you all about this when things slow down for you. Best of luck.

    Tricia

    Clint and Luke,
I loook forward to reading the updates. Glad things are going well. Sorry to hear you got yacked on. Not much worse than warm puke running down the the back of your neck. I know it has happened to me a few times. LOL!!! The article in the paper was really good. Keep up the good work I know it’s not easy. I hope you have eaten some exotic food. Have you found any of those delectible donkey sandwiches yet? I forgot to tell you in the last post that they rejected it b/c it said TX the state but spelled out. I know they have certain words that they filter out. Not sure why they filter TX but what ever. Make sure you check your comments everyday. I am going to start sending you a link to something I think is funny on the web daily. I know if I was gone I would need to be entertained as much as anything. I will start you off with two tonight. You will probalbly have to copy and paste these into your browser.

This guy I think is from Canada. He developed this outfit and then tried to sell it to the military. Seems like a good idea to me.

My favorite part is when he gets hit by the truck.

I don’t know why this is funny but it is!!!

Here is todays link. Not sure if you have seen it or not but it is entertaining. I wonder how many times they had to redo it to get it perfect.
