Luke is now finished with his 5th stem cell treatment and the end is definitely in sight. I don’t have a lot to report about since my last post as Luke and I have not been out to much, just a few walks after therapy. I have been feeling patience getting shorter with all the attention we get when we leave the hospital. I cannot even tell you how many times Luke and I have been stared at just walking down the street. I am a private person and needless to say its getting OLD. I’ve had to get loud with a couple of people that have been pushing the personal space and touching boundary, not that they know what I am saying but they understood my tone.
I do like the Chinese people and culture they are very kind and sincere people, but have I mentioned we are looking forward to coming home. I am planning to hire the caregiver again this week and go to the waterfront of the Yellow Sea and do some sightseeing. Sorry not much to report but we have been kind of laying low.
Luke is still as sweet as ever, I have never been around anyone that their first reaction is to smile regardless of the situation. As soon as he wakes up in the morning, smile. Right after he throws up on the back of a mans pants on an escalador at the market because he was trying to poop, smile. And when a nurse wakes him up after only sleeping 20 minutes to give his IV he smiles before and after, I know he doesn’t get that from me.
Since Luke and I have been laying low around here I have been doing more looking at the computer than I ever thought I would. In doing so I came across a young girls essay about her brother, Cheryl may have sent it to some of you before if she did its worth watching again.

Thanks again to everyone for everything,
Clint and Luke

Clint and Luke,
I am so glad that you are doing well. I know that you very excited about coming home and the end is defiantly in sight. I do understand about the picture and touching of Luke and I would be the same way. I am sure it is just so hard for the Chinese people not to stare, touch and take pictures of Luke when he is just so darn cute and if he is giving them his famous smiles! Keep chucking along you are almost done. We are proud of you both! We love you guys!

Hi Clint and Luke,
Thanks for passing the youtube essay on. Thought provoking.
It is interesting how all people act toward others who are different “Art”. I imagine the Chinese think you and Luke are “Art”. You are different from their norm.
What a learning experience this is for you. Learning about yourself, your son and the ways of people of a foreign country.
You and Luke are “Art”
Your grandparents would be proud.

Clint, Thank you so much for the update. I’m sure you are anxious to get home and see your family. I know that they are anxious also. Thanks also for the beautiful site that you sent us. That family must be very proud of the daughter they have raised. It is a beautiful insight. Look forward to seeing you, and have a safe trip home in a few weeks. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. LOVE- WILMA & DAVE

Not sure if you have ever seen these commercial but they are really funny. Cheryl and Cody are coming over tommorow to trick and treat. We will have a fun night. Do they celebrate Halloween in China? Just curious.

Happy Halloween Clint & Luke! It seems very strange that none of my 4 nephews will be in costumes this year, but you’re family will more than make up for it next year I’m sure. Just think what Luke may be doing by next Halloween as a result of all his (& your) hard work & dedication during this past month. Can’t wait to see some recent photos of that adorable smile & the sights you’ve seen.
Just breathe & visualize the light at the end of the tunnel.
Have a good one, Love you.
Cathy

I just wanted to wish you and Luke a Happy Halloween! We missed you and Luke at Kirk and Rachel’s this year! Cody was the cutiest dog walker I have ever seen and of course, Cheryl was the most realistic pregnant woman on the block. Only one more week keep on trucking you are almost done. See you soon!
