On Monday I had my 4 injection. It didn’t go very well. It all started when it came time to get my IV. The nurse came in and she couldn’t find a vein she looked all over, on my hands, arms feet, so she said she would come back with another nurse, while I was waiting i covered myself in laticane I wanted to be prepared for where ever they were going to stick that needle in. When the nurse came back the first time they tried in my right arm and didn’t get the vein, then they tried the other arm and didn’t get it, finaly they tried again on my other arm and got it I was so relieved! Normally they would hook up fluids to me but they didn’t this time for some reason. Mom asked and then she sent me to ask and they told us no, that I would get it after, so we went with it. After my spinal I felt horrible I had a headache and I was sick. It was the worst one. Mom says I was sick because I wasn’t hydrated at all so she made sure that the doctors knew she was not happy. She told them that she want’s my spinals spread out and that the next two spinals I get she wont let me go util I have had fluids. The head nurse came in and said sorry and one of the doctors, Dr. Lisa, came in to. We got it all figured out.
Yesterday was one of the most amazing days of my life. Mom was talking on the skype with tia and tio jay so I felt like right in the journal that we got. I went out and sat down at the little table and started writing, not noticing that there was something different, I kept on writing and then I noticed it I was half the distance away from the paper as I normally was. I couldn’t believe it. At first I thought I’m just rereading what I’m wrighting in my head I’m not really seeing it, so i went in to my room to have mom right something and see if maybe I was seeing it but she was talking and so I just thought never mind. I went back out and started right again and this time I read 3 sentences and so I ran into the room and I showed mom and then i had her right something on the paper and I could read it about 12 inches from my face:)
Hi Macie: I know you’re in China Still with your mother….but your story is such a miracle to me…..I’ve just been reading yoru blog and have been following Kirshner’s site for many months now about all the babies and parents that have been going over to China for Stem cell therapy…..I am a 31 year old adult with ONH since birth (blind in the L eye, 20/200 in the right eye) and have been wondering desperately if this would work for an adult and since it’s only been little babies going over who can’t tell me (obviously) if it worked or not….I’ve been very nervous about the whole thing….but just reading now that after such a short time that you could actually read a whole 12 inches away from the paper is such a MIRACLE to me, especially sinceI can only read about 1 1/2 inches away inthe GOOD eye……when you are very recovered, back to normal and back from China, would your or your mother mind e-mailing me and talking to me a bit? I’d like to know more about what you went through as you are a young adult who can verbalize her experience to me……here’s my e-mail. rachaelfisher@gmail.com
Thank you so much Macie. You give me and many others hope….
cell…
