Day 14 10/29/08
October 29th, 2008
Another exciting day in Qingdao. Had PT this morning, topped it off with some extra stair work. Then my second IV in the afternoon, almost fell asleep in the chair. When we got to the IV room it was chained from the outside, and there were nurses inside trying to get out! I kept looking for Moe and Curly, but they didn’t show.
IV was interesting, one of the moms was there with her boy, and she is in health care. She pointed out to me that there was a large bubble in my line, headed for my vein. As this is not good, she tapped it out for me.
My sister and her family, my family and my mother often get together on Friday nights. We usually order pizza or Chinese. Well, someone’s going to have to start cooking. Had dumplings for lunch AGAIN and I’ll probably have pizza for dinner AGAIN, only this time no corn, thank you LA Pizza. Will I be getting paid for product placements? Guess not. Screen Actor’s Guild doesn’t have jurisdiction in China. In my previous life I was a classical singer and commercial voiceover actor, you know, one of those guys who tells you to buy stuff you don’t need. Even if (when!) this works, don’t think I’ll be going back to that. It’s all about talking fast, and I was good at that, but it’s not currently one of my strong suits. The irony of this is not lost on me. But one never knows, do one?
Getting that seventh IV treatment is not going to force me to change my escape plans, um… flights. Now I just have to find out what it’ll cost. Wonder how much they’re going to stick me for?

I hope you are going to explain more about the nurses who were locked in the treatment room? The chains are making my imagination run wild!

Hello Michael,
I am reading your blogs and it sounds like a rigorous interactive experience. You are a wonderful writer and taking one day at a time.
I hope we might continue with the webcam.
My Best and warm regards
Dorothy

When you saw the nurses trying to get out, you saw Curly & Moe. I’m visuzlizing the nurses, looking through little windows, pounding on the doors…outside I see Jack Nicholson, Danny DeVito and the “Cuckoo’s Nest” gang. I could see that gang orchestrating a “nurse lockup”…perhaps in the sequel.
Maybe we can all try to brainstorm on “take out” options that don’t include pizza and / or Chinese. Kentucky Fried Chicken…Boston Market…Applebee’s Curb Side…jello shots…oops, getting off target here !!
Have a great evening…xoxo

‘Stick you for’???? Was that one of your famous puns?? Yeeeesh!
So, that wasn’t sappy, I didn’t cry or anything. As for your thoughts on our ‘business’ you know how I feel about it. Just like Daddy, I guess. I would miss the people, but if I never had to go on another audition , I can’t say that I would be unhappy. Our business sucks, and it has for too long. I hate the reason why, but I have long since felt that you are lucky to be OUT.
How surreal it must be to see these nurses all trying to get out and you sitting there w/an IV w/ a bubble coming. THat, and they all
speak another language. Sort of like a Saturday Night Live sketch!
Someone should call Lorne Michaels….
FReezing weather on the way out and normal weather on the way. That’s a good thing, considering I don’t have any winter jackets for the kids yet!! This could be the first Halloween in my
memory that the kids will have to wear coats!
Nothing much to tell you, life is boring without you. So, come home, ok?
I think that I’m going to write a stem cells ‘cheer’ to encourage yours to do their thing. Once a cheerleader always a cheerleader…
Goooooooooo STEM CELLS!!
ok, you can laugh now~
Melissa
