We first arrived in Shanghai on Sunday more than a week ago. We stayed at a hotel and saw lots of fireworks. The next morning we flew for about an hour to Qingdao. We arrived at The People’s Hospital of Chengyang, Qingdao and were shown to our room. We were then given a tour of the VIP hospital ward. We were shown the kitchen, dining room, toy section and common area where all the patients and their families sit, chat and play.
We had Macca’s for lunch, which they delivered to the hospital. There are four translators that help us talk to the doctors and therapists, but the doctors and therapists can speak a little bit of English. My therapist gives me accupuncture, accupressure and electric wave therapy five days a week. My therapist is funny because when he puts the needles in for accupuncture and I say “ouch”, he says “ouch” too! My mum pretends I’m a birthday cake with eleven candles sticking out of me (but they’re really accupuncture needles) and she always likes to come over and blow them out and then she gives me a kiss!
