Stem Cell Day

January 4th, 2007

It feels like you are waiting forever for your stem cell day to arrive. Any time from 3pm onwards the cells should arrive. Today I recieve them via an IV so no fasting or laying flat on my back for 4 hours afterwards. I should be able to kick back, watch a DVD for the afternoon and order Garry around a bit (you’ve got to try and milk it while you can).

I had an MRI this morning which is not a very pleasant experience. The machine is very noisy and they strap you in so you can’t move especially your head. The bed you are strapped to then moves into a cocoon type vacuum where you stay for 30 minutes. I was very tense and hoping and praying I didn’t get one of my dizzy spells in the cocoon, they tend to make me want to vomit.

Garry and I went for a walk down town after therapy today. He loves bargaining and haggling anybody down a few dollars. The girls clothing is very cute and quite cheap, cheaper than Australia anyway. My sister in law would have a field day, she would never tire of shopping over here. Garry would need to go however as otherwise you may be charged the amount on the label. He is not embarrased to quibble about a few dollars.

My hands are bruised badly from an IV every day and also the accupunture needles. Another bruise will eventuate after today. Best go and await my delivery!

Rachel, can I have a comment as to whether you are receiving my comments or not – it says” your comment is awaiting moderation” and I don’t know what that means. I hope all went well with the stem cells today – sounds like the IV will be easier than the spinal injection, which is good to hear. Millie will be scoring big time with the shopping. Didn’t take you long to have a little one on your knee (re the photo). Anyway take care – I am off to Toowoomba tomorrow by bus – be back sunday night so will catach up with your news then – it is good to keep track of how you are going _ I just wish I knew whether you were receiving this.
