SHIRDESH’S FINAL TREATMENT.
November 13th, 2008
2008/11/12. Todays was baby’s final treatment done via IV through his leg. This was painful. Nothing much to report here except that the required norm of stem cells are now in his body. We have to watch for further improvement which we believe will come about by the multiplication of the stem cells in his body. The doctor had said in one of his earlier treatment , that proteins play a huge part in the multiplication process and has strongly remmmended that his diet be restricted to food such as milk, meat, fish and any other meals of high protein content.
The Singh family once again would like to thank all the people back home, who have contributed in making all this possible.
This proves that when humanity comes together , irrespective of religion, colour, creed or caste, GOD listens to all of them and no particular religion can be singled out. Baby Shirdesh, is evidence of their prayers just being answerred.
When we are back home, we in partnership with the RISING SUN NEWSPAPERS are sure to update the public from time to time on Baby Shirdesh’s progress.
God Bless all
The Singh Family

hi tashni and family
we r very happy that all treatments were done successfully.
i wanted to let u know that in my research about stem cell therapy…i have read that after the treatment, shirdesh must be kept in isolation as much as possibe ..away from many people so that he does not pick up any infections. the stem cells are very weak and can die easily if baby gets sick. i’m sure all who love him will give him the space he needs to recuperate… so please ..limit guests and well wishers as i’m sure many people are waiting to see him …myself included!
we can all wait as it is in his best interest …the recommended time is at least three months of illness free period!
we wish u a safe journey back home. you have all had a breath taking experience of a lifetime…and we have all become enriched … i’m sure by now you really need some rest and no doubt home is best ….so south africa is waiting for baby shirdesh’s return!
lots of love
vimmi and shivi and family

Please pass on my well wishes to Baby Shirdesh , may god be with him and ensure his steady progress . I would also like to commensurate you and your family for all that you have undergone for reaching this juncture to ensure a bright future for your son. While doing so you have paved a path and raised the hopes for all the parents who have children suffering from R.O.P. My son suffers from Stage 5 of ROP and just has a perception of light. On stumbling across your Blog I was so relieved to hear that researchers are offering us some hope to provide vision for our child. I know you must be quiet involved with caring for Shirdesh. I would be extremely indebted if you could spare some time and provide a lead if the same treatment is possible for my child. My email id is mohitsodani@gmail.com
