3 month update!!

June 14th, 2010

Hello guys,

Well, has it really been 3 months  and 1 week since we came home, WOW WOW WOW and  WOW! Well, I am doing pretty well. I had my tests the other day in Dublin and I have my visual fields and visual acuity check this wednesday so I will update when I get results.

Since my last post my left and right eye are now at around 5 meters!! Big difference from 1 meter??!! I notice a lot more little things like I could see the goal posts at a match last week and every day things. My improvements have slowed down a lot, maybe its because when i first cam home i was seeing everything for the first time! But I am still thrilled as I have gained 4 meters of sight this year, something I thought would never happen.

Other then that I am keeping really well, still smiling and enjoying watching the world cup!! Its strange watching soccer properly!! the players all have legs and all :)

Anyway, I will be sure to let ye know how my results go and please keep me in yere thoughts and prayers! There working!!

Lots of love and enjoy the world cup 2010!!

Lots of irish hugs and kisses

Valerie

Hey, I have been following your post for a while now. That is great to see that China really helped your vision! I am considering going to china to help treay my optic atrophy. I spoke with someone from the hospital last year and they thought I would be a good canidate for treatment. Do you have any quickadvice on going to China? Was it overall a good experience? Any info would be great!

Thanks, and I Wish You The Best!

    Hi there,

Pretty awesome what I have just read and heard of the stem cell treatment. I am 21 years of age diagnosed with libers optic atrophy, my brother has a similar eye condition and so does my mom and her mother had this too. My million dollar question is….is this real?…………I have been to all doctors across the country of orgin (beautiful South Africa) and to my disappointment they belive there is no cure as yet.

    Eagerly awaiting your response.
    Best wishes and blessings

Hi Val, well done on your wonderful success. Wow!, 5 metres. I lost my sight 20 years ago in a football match when an accident damaged and detached my retinas. Not sure if there is anything for me out there in China just yet. I was encouraged and excited by your blog articles and video. Take care and keep on progressing. Paul.
