wayne’s sci blog

June 11th, 2007

Wayne woke up this morning and stated he had been waiting for this day for the past two years. Brittany had kept a journal while we were in SLU Hospital, Select Hospital and St. Louis Rehab. We reminisced about the high and low points of those 5 months. The tragedy and change of life is there, but the love, compassion, new patience, peace and strenghtening of our faith is overwhelming. Family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, even strangers, young and old have given us overwhelming support. We also thank all the churches and prayer circles- Draw close to God, and God will draw close to you. We had P.T. this morning for 2 hrs. 11 a.m. and Wayne is not to eat or drink. At 2 p.m. we transferred him to the procedure room. It’s now 7:30 p.m. Wayne returned at 3:30 and has been asleep since. Everything is stable. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 God Willing Wayne and Deb 2:30 wetrans

We of the Oakdale church were praying for you in our Sunday worship service. I am praying for you and I know that those of the church will be praying as well.
God is good. And we are believing that good things will come of this trip.
Together in the love of Christ Jesus, John

Almost morning in China as it is about 2:00 PM in Nashville–Sunny, 80′s, and slight breeze-probably a bit different there. Read all your news after Aunt Eileen gave us the web site. Prayers are with the three of you from St. Paul’s UCC. Wayne the Lord will work in His own way to lead and comfort you through this special event in your life. Only faith moves mountains and parted the Red Sea. Remember His footsteps are right beside yours. Love to my cousin and all. Rosalee

Dennis and I have been waiting for you site address to keep up with your progress. I still have trouble understanding why a culture as advanced as ours should be living in the dark ages when it comes to stem cells. We are excited and hopeful about the gains that you will make with each treatment and each day. Don’t let set backs along the way shake your faith. There are many people you don’t even know who are praying for your daily improvement.

Praise God for you and we do know God answers prayer. You are certainly living in those blessings each day even 1/2 way around the world from here. Mary Barrett just called and gave us the url where we could pick up this information. Amazing that we can get information so quickly– a bit shocking to us oldies, how comminications are in this day. One thing faster and that is our prayers reach heaven instantaneously and we serve a live God who hears and answers our prayers. Wish everyone did.
Keeping you in prayer for treatment, safety in travel and all ways.
    Beldon and Berneda

It has been a long journey since the Rehab hospital in St. Louis. You have been the source of many lessons. Because of the prayers, I feel very much a part of all that is happening. I hope you are sensing an overwhelming presence of the power and majesty of God.

Just read your blog for Monday, Sounds like you have all had a full day, and Wayne is especially worn out. We pray that the treatment will have started the miracle you have been waiting for. We pray that each day you will see little miracles abound.
Both of you, and your whole family are in our prayers. I’m sure this is a very anxious time for Brittany and Brandon and family.
    God is with you always!

My daughters’ trip is planned for September 4 through Oct.10. She is a C4 Quad. Our entire family is following your blog and others to try to learn as much as we can before they begin their adventure. Everyones’ stories give us hope – we aren’t expecting monumental miracles but little ones would be wonderful.
Take care and we will be following your adventures in China,

I finally got a chance to read your blog. It sounds like things are going well, and I am excited to continue to hear more about your progress. We are keeping each of you in our daily thoughts and prayers. We had Hudson’s baptism’s Saturday night, and Uncle Wayne remains on the prayer list at the Lutheran Church. Each time I hear his name during the church prayers, it provides comfort to know so many people are praying for him. Aunt Deb, just wanted to let you know that Ella loves her new cherry pajamas that you gave to her. She has worn them nearly every night. As a matter of fact, she wore them in the pool on Sunday. It is sometimes a challenge to get her out of them. Take Care. We love and miss you. Kim
